The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine Body Lotion Review

The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine Body Lotion Review

Hi Guys,

I will be reviewing the last product I purchased from the “Scents of the World” collection. It is the Indian Night Jasmine Body Lotion.  Out of all the scents from the “Scents of the World” collection, my favourite was the “Atlas Mountain Rose,” but I do think that the Indian Night Jasmine will be the second best. I never liked jasmine fragrances, but after I tried the “Moringa Body Mist” from The Body Shop, I was interested in trying scents in this genre. This doesn’t smell anything like the cheap jasmine fragrances, but rather is more sensual and mysterious. The packaging features the Taj Mahal and I felt it was really cute.

My Experience with The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine Body Lotion:

I picked this one up since I don’t have a lotion/mist similar to this in my current stack (I have Moringa, but it is not quite the same).I liked the whole sensual, oriental feeling to it, but because I was not too sure, I bought only the lotion and shower gel and that too in travel sizes.  Product comes in a transparent bottle with a flip flop cap. Just like the other lotions from the “Scents of the World” collection, this too is very thin and runny. I will come to the scent now. It will suit all age groups but definitely suitable for mature ladies. It is not a girly sweet fragrance at all even though when it dries down, it smells more powdery. This is an elegant scent with violet leaves, sandalwood and orange blossom on top of jasmine. The SA told me that this scent was similar to the neroli jasmine, but I didn’t think so.

TBS Indian Night

Neroli jasmine smelt better but I still wanted to try out the Indian Night jasmine as well. This is also a totally summery scent, but I might use this only when I wear Indian outfits.  It might sound silly but I can only associate this with saris and salwars.  The consistency is very thin, so it wouldn’t provide enough moisture to dry skin, but is suitable for summer and also for normal-skinned ladies.

Night Jasmine

Pros of The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine Body Lotion:

  • Cute packaging with Taj Mahal on it.
  • Provides just enough moisture for summer and for hot and humid climates.
  • Sensual, mature and elegant fragrance suitable for you if you like these kinds of fragrances.
  • The shower gel as well as the EDT can be used for layering.
  • Fragrance lasts for at least a couple of hours.

Cons of The Body Shop Indian Night Jasmine Body Lotion:

  • I feel this fragrance lacks sweetness and is too “mature” for me – I feel I cannot wear this with all my outfits.

IMBB Rating:

3/5.  I have reduced points only for the fragrance; I feel it is not a good match for my personality. But if you are into elegant, sensual fragrances and if you like jasmine, gardenia, moringa, etc., then please do try it.
