The Body Shop Lychee Blossom Eau De Toilette Review

The Body Shop Lychee Blossom Eau De Toilette Review

Yes, you read it right. It’s a LYCHEE blossom Eau de Toilette. I love the lychee flavour in my drink and ice cream, but in a perfume?:) That sounded interesting. I smelled it for a brief moment, liked it and picked it without thinking too much as this was on 50% sale.

When I saw Rati’s post about 50% sale on TBS, I urged my boyfriend to take me to the TBS store the very same day the sale started. I have never tried any TBS product so far, so was expecting to make the most out of the sale. I wanted to try their Rainforest shampoo, Lip balms, cosmetics, brushes and what not. But unfortunately they did not have sale for the products which I wanted.

Lychee Blossom
I was browsing through the rack of products which had 50% off. Along with the wild cherry range and some child care product this little boy was sitting cute there. Just for the cute look of the bottle, I sniffed it and sprayed it on my wrist. I have a habit of asking my boy friend’s opinion for each and everything I buy (Though he is not sure about the product.) For the perfume toh, I had to ask him

He liked the fragrance and asked me to pick this. Will I deny it when he likes it and when he pays for the bill??

Price: INR 675 (I got it for INR 337.5)

From the TBS-USA website:

Fragrance personality: This eau de toilette combines notes of juicy lychee and guava with delicately floral lychee blossom, magnolia and freesia.
Family: floral
Features:
Light eau de toilette
Fruity-floral scent

Lychee

Guava

Magnolia

Freesia

My take on this product:

First thing first, I liked the cute floral pinky bottle which was very cute. Nothing dramatic about the bottle design. It’s cute, girly and simple.

Coming to the scent, it’s a FRUITY FLORAL fragrance, with more of a fruity punch. I didn’t recognize the guava note in it until I read it in their website. The lychee and guava notes are blended nicely with the mild floral notes.

This is a very summery fragrance. To be a good summery fragrance, it should have a good staying power to withstand the hot summer months. But this guy unfortunately failed there. I use on my dress and not on my skin directly. You get a strong smell as you spray it on, but don’t worry it would become milder in few minutes.
The smell lingers around till afternoon and fades off. In the evening I’ll get the smell only if I sniff on my dress. In this case I don’t think others would get the smell. I’m OK with this for the Bangalore weather. But I doubt about the performance in other hotter places.

The next day when I used it a little more of the perfume, it managed to stay for a longer time.

Never mind we can use it for an evening out or shopping or something like that but may not be as a full day wear.

Also, I found this fragrance to be very girly girly. Not sure if it would suite elderly woman. But again it’s a personal choice. If they can carry it, it’s perfectly fine for anyone.

Though this is a limited edition line in TBS, you can manage to find them in some stores especially during sale time.

Here’s the summary.

Pros of The Body Shop Lychee Blossom Eau De Toilette:

1. It’s a fresh fruity floral scent apt for summer.
2. Cute looking bottle with pink floral imprint.
3. It is not over whelming at the same time not very subtle.
4. I got it for very cheap for just around 350.

Cons of The Body Shop Lychee Blossom Eau De Toilette:

1. Poor staying power
2. Not everyone might like to smell like a Lychee guava mocktail
3. It is a Limited edition product.

Recommendation:
Choice of Perfumes is very personal and sometime acquired too :haanji: Do take a sniff when you find it. You may go for it if you are a fruity/flowery person. Apt for gifting young gals in your family/friend circle.

See ya all in next post gals.

Till then.

Bye .
