The Body Shop Macadamia Straightening Balm
Body shop is one brand that I completely swear by, I love to try out any new product by this brand without giving it a second thought.
I generally like to pile up my stock whenever I am travelling abroad because there is a good price difference and also to some extend the quality differs in certain products. I had purchased this last summer on my shopping spree.

Benefits of Macadamia :
It is Remarkably lightweight, macadamia oil’s unique composition gives it an uncanny similarity and compatibility to sebum, the natural oils that our own scalp produces. It’s this unique similarity that makes it so effective, allowing the oil to infuse into hair and scalp with extraordinarily fast absorption. Macadamia Natural Oil restores health, softness and shine and shields the hair from chemicals, heat and damage through its natural UV protection.
My experience with The Body Shop Macadamia Straightening Balm:
It’s a regular bottle with a nozzle, take the required amount in the palm and apply it on semi dry hair
It’s a thick creamy liquid; similar to a conditioner so cannot be sprayed directly. I like this as I can apply the apt amount required. I would recommend using it sparingly on the roots and concentrate more towards the ends as too much product can make hair sticky, and will end up with a greasy scalp.
For me it definitely controls fly away and makes hair manageable, does not control frizz as much I would like it to, but even if I do not follow it with iron or blow dry it still makes the hair set better as its more like a leave in conditioner.
Did I mention that this is a heat protectant as well !!!! This is great as I love multi-utility products. At the moment ,my hair at the roots is wavy and the bottom half is rebonded hair, so I usually have to blow dry or flat iron and this balm protects the hair from heat while styling and also cuts the time as the hair is so soft and manageable.
And I totally love the smell it’s a soft nutty fragrance, not at all annoying ,and stays throughout .
This also makes the split ends less visible and after couple of uses ,made my ends more healthy.
Body shop claims that this is humidity resistant which works well for summer, but when I used it last monsoon, it made hair very limp and sticky. So doesn’t work well in too much humidity.
Pros of The Body Shop Macadamia Straightening Balm:
• Value for money .
• Good quantity.
• Works great for styling.
• Heat protectant.
• Travel-friendly packing.
Cons of The Body Shop Macadamia Straightening Balm:
• Not as humidity-resistant as claimed.
• Not available in India.
• Cap comes off, already lost mine .
IMBB Rating:
3.5/5
It’s not the best product in the market but for the price and quality it’s not bad. I probably will not repurchase it as my current bottle is going to last me long time and by then am sure there will be something new to try out.
Until I see you next..be stylish ..be sexy
