My Experience with The body shop mango shower gel:

The first thing which I noticed about this shower gel was its smell. It smells like Mangoes, no mango candy smell or anything but the real mango fruit smell. It is not very sweet not very citrus but a wonderful balance of the two. This refreshing mango smell makes bathing experience wonderful. But this smell remains only till the shower and fads later. It does not linger all day or even few hours for me.
The consistency of the shower gel is apt, not too think not too runny. As claimed, it lathers well. When using on a loofa, small quantity will do for full body. It is easy and quick to wash. While I didn’t find this product drying, I also didn’t find it moisturizing in any way. My skin did feel soft after using it, and it left no greasy film behind. But there was no extra moisturization which will make me skip the moisturizer application after shower.

It comes in a transparent plastic bottle, which is easy to press. It has flip cap and is recyclable.

Pros of The body shop mango shower gel:

• Awesome smell, like real mangoes.
• Doesn’t dry out my skin.
• No greasy film left behind, as some of the moisturizing shower gels do.
• Lathers well, small quantity is needed every time.
• Not tested on animals and recyclable packaging.

Cons of The body shop mango shower gel:

• Smell does not linger.
• Not very moisturizing.
• Pricy.

Final Verdict on The body shop mango shower gel:
I like this shower gel,It smells great and it doesn’t dry me out. I think this would be fine for oily or normal skin, because it doesn’t leave any greasy residues or anything. But if you have very dry skin, It won’t be the moisturizing shower gel for you. Also, I feel it is wise to add some more bucks and buy the big bottle then the small 60 ml one, especially when you are buying individual products.

IMBB Rating:3.5/5

  1. I have used the mango body butter and I can imagine how delicious this shower gel would smell. Pity they didnt come up with a mango body mist 🙂
