My Experience With The Body Shop Matte Lipstick – 410 Havana Red:

I remember a few months ago, I went for a shopping spree at the lifestyle store and they had this amazing sale going on that time and I shopped like crazy. I came across this lipstick after I was done with shopping and tried this on my lips to see how it looks. When I saw myself in mirror, I was awestruck looking at the shade and how well it complimented me. I then looked at the price tag and decided to add it to my “to buy shopping list” because, I’ve already spent a lot on other products that day. If you are a shopaholic like me, then you’ll know that nothing haunts like the things we didn’t buy. And, when I had an option to choose a product for my sponsored review, I went on to pick this for myself and now, I am glad that it’s all mine.

This lipstick was not new when I received the product because, I’ve already checked for its shade, packaging and texture, etc., a few months ago. And, I knew I was making a right decision by purchasing this. This comes in black plastic case at the bottom, silver metallic case in the middle and the outer black plastic cap that shields the lipstick. What’s good about it’s packaging is that, it comes with a color coded sticker on its cap and the bottom, so you’ll be able to make a right choice in picking up the correct shade when you want to wear. But, what’s strange about this lipstick is that, each shade has the right shade of color sticker except for this one. The shade of the lipstick and the shade of the sticker don’t match at all.

It’s a warm shade of orange and I get to see a red sticker on the cap with brown shade at the bottom. That’s so weird and this can confuse the buyer. When I try to open the cap, it always makes a “pup” sound and I had no problem while locking or unlocking this one. Whenever I have this lipstick in my hand, I love opening it’s cap multiple times just to sniff it’s mild sweet fragrance. I really love how each time it smells, when I try to open the cap. I am glad it functions properly while twisting and hasn’t loosened up anytime till date. I have had a lot of issues with other lipsticks, where I would have to twist the lipstick multiple times in order to have it out of the case. With this, I can conclude the packaging is decent, convenient and sturdy.

I am absolutely in love with this shade as it compliments my fair skin tone. Like I said, it’s a warm shade of orange with a very little tint of red and brown. This shade will look absolutely gorgeous on fair beauties and may also compliment medium skin tones. If you are looking for an orange shade in particular, I think you should go for this, as it does fare good in other aspects as well.

The texture is smooth like butter and it glides easily on to the lips. This is more of a semi-matte lipstick and the color goes on looking thick and full on lips. The shape of the lipstick provides for a precise application on the lip curves and you are done with the job with just two swipes. The color is highly pigmented and neither does this settle on the fine lines nor does this flake either. It offers full coverage on application and doesn’t smudge.

However, it transfers a lot and that does only when you eat, sip or kiss someone. Otherwise, the lipstick stays in place until you decide to remove it.

The staying power is great too. It lasted for good 8 hours, after which it just faded a little. And with time, it keeps fading after that and stays until next day, if slept with the lipstick on your lips. With eating a meal, it fades half and you would have to go for a reapplication afterwards. But otherwise, it’s too good in terms of staying power. Overall, I loved this one and now I am eyeing on the shade “423 Rio fuchsia”.
