Smoothing Day Cream

My Take on The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream:

The Nutriganics Drops of Youth product line was launched by TBS sometime last year. I was in search of a good moisturizer at that time and picked this up. It is a mini version of the product, perfect if you want to try out something new. I was told by the SA that this cream is perfect for women who are having first signs of ageing. I have just crossed 30 and though as such don’t have any “ageing” issues, I thought of including this in my routine.

The product comes in a pump bottle and looks very cute, especially the mini version. The cream is white in colour and slightly thick, but very soft. The skin soaks the cream immediately. Now, I have oily/combination skin and the SA had told me it will suit all skin types. So, I trusted him and bought it. The online reviews were also very good, but what a disappointment this cream turned out to be. It makes my face so oily even in winters.  Can’t imagine how it will be in summers, I just use 1-2 pumps for my face and neck.

Day Cream

I had barely used for 3 days when I started noticing small bumps on my face. I stopped using it completely. I finished this cream off by using it as a body moisturizer! What a waste of money. I feel if somebody in US/Europe or colder countries with oily skin would use it, then perhaps it won’t be a problem and the cream might actually be good.  No wonder the US/UK websites rave about the product, in fact it is a bestseller in UK.  But I think Asian countries where our temperatures are so high, this probably doesn’t work. But this cream might do wonders for dry skinned girls and especially in winter. Girls with oily skin, I warned ya!

Pros of The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream:

  • Certified organic ingredients.
  • Products not tested on animals.
  • Cute pump bottle.

Cons of The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Day Cream:

  • Expensive.
  • Made my skin greasy.

  1. Welcome back to IMBB Sheetal….missed your review……thanks for reviewing this one, I would have definitely picked it up otherwise 🙂

  2. Climate also plays a vital part in skin care or make up, i have faced the issue myself, creams worked very well in Dubai failed completely in Chennai 🙁 both are humid cities but then too it didnt work the same way for me 🙁

  3. I was just about to review this. Anyways this one is for dry skin as per SA here and suits me completely. No greasiNess even during winters and also helped even out my skin tone. I use only one pump and that’s more than enough. Sorry Sheetal the SA suggested u otherwise

    1. I have noticed that the SA at TBS, if not mentioned clearly on the bottle/product the skin type it is for; they just tell it is for all skin types. On the bottle nowhere it was mentioned the skin type 🙁

      1. I can understand your delimma. To invest and not get the returns due to someone else’s fault. I would feel like knocking out a few teeth

  4. I so badly want Body Shop to work for me because the store is so easily accessible 🙂 While i liked their tea tree scrub and toner the other products like their eye cream etc were a dud for me. I have the same opinion as Paritha in that i find TBS creams way too rich for me and i am afraid it might mess up my skin further.

btw folks i am currently on the Clinique 3 step skincare routine and so far Touch wood its working well. I bought the sampler (4 weeks usage the SA said) and i think I ill definitely be buying the full size products once this gets over.

    1. Hey, I use Clinique 3 step err rather 2 step because the moisturiser/ gel broke me out! But the face wash and toner are amazing!
