The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum Review

The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum Review

Hello Friends,

Almost a year ago I had accidentally stumbled upon IMBB and back then, I was a complete novice in terms of makeup, skin care and products and their various uses. I have turned into my thirties and I can proudly say that this past year has brought about lots of changes in my life. Thanks to IMBB. Its only whilst going through the posts that I realized the need for anti-ageing products to combat those signs of ageing that were slowly creeping up. It was during this conquest to find the perfect products that I picked up the Nutriganics Smoothing Serum from The Body Shop. According to their SA, this one is meant for those with dry skin and people in their early thirties, so just the product I was looking for.

Price:

INR 1395 for 30 ml or (1.0 US Fl Oz)

Packaging and Texture:

It comes in a simple, white colored, sleek cylindrical bottle with a pump dispenser. It has a translucent lid that shuts with a click and can easily be accommodated into any bag or purse. The serum is milky white in color and its consistency is between thick and thin as you can see in the picture. A single pump dispenses just the exact amount required and is enough for the entire face and neck area.

Product Description:

Our certified organic range has been created for the first signs of ageing. This pre-moisturiser hydrates, helping to smooth skin. It leaves skin softer, more supple and revitalised. Contains organic buddleja and thyme along with Community trade organic olive oil and aloe vera.

  • Smoothes lines.

My Experience with The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum:

I had tried this at the store initially and liked the ease with which it gets absorbed into the skin within seconds. The texture is very light and non greasy and I can feel my skin refreshed after application. It has a very mild fragrance, like those of freshly plucked spices and herbs and has a soothing and calming effect on my senses.

TBS Smoothing Serum 2

My skin belongs to the normal-dry combination category and I do not have any wrinkles or lines apart from those around my eyes. I had picked this up more as a preventive measure than a curative one. As the saying goes “Prevention is better than Cure” and I am a follower of the same. I have been using this religiously for the past two months and there is still a little remaining and will probably last another half month or so as I cannot see through the packaging. I use it prior going to bed whilst following my CTM routine and sometimes in the morning too. Mornings are a busy time for me and to take those 10 minutes also becomes a hassle at times, hence I used this only at night time.

TBS Nutriganics

There wasn’t much difference in the initial 2-3 weeks other than the fact that my daily moisturizer now got absorbed very easily without much effort. I wasn’t expecting a miracle overnight either as our skin also requires time to get acquainted to a new product. After a month I could see a slight decrease in the finest lines and my skin tone had appeared more even and natural. Now, after two months, that is all the difference I observed.

Face Serum

Pros of The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum:

  • Sleek packaging with hygienic pump dispenser that can be easily carried around.
  • One pump amount adequate for one time application.
  • Reduces fine lines over time with regular use.
  • Even and smoothes out the skin tone.
  • Natural herbs and spice fragrance that has a calming effect.
  • Non-greasy formula.
  • Gets absorbed within seconds.
  • Could not find any parabens in the ingredients list.

Cons of The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum:

  • The price is on the higher side, but almost all serums are expensive.
  • Takes a toll on your patience for the results to be visible.
  • Could not find my skin any softer than it was before.

Do I Recommend The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum?

This is certainly worth purchasing for those who want to give a try. I might skip this around for the second time and look for something much more effective after all I am on the ageing roller-coaster ride.

IMBB Rating:

4.75/5 for the softening part, now who doesn’t want soft skin????

  1. hi nidhi gr8 review, i am also looking for such an anti aging serum as i am stepping into my 30s.. so should i get it or not and what are other alternatives??

  2. Nice review Nidhi ,…. I have only tried a couple of TBS skincare stuff but have tried heaps of body care stuff I have combination skin so might try this after hitting 30 🙂

    1. Thanks Supriya.. I also am in love with their body care stuff. Awesome products but their skincare isn’t as great as their body care section. Some are really good and others so so. Ya do give this one a try. This is really good as a serum in their skin care category so far. 🙂

  3. Nidhi..

Thanks for the review sweetie.. and I am so glad you reviewed it. I was thinking of getting this one but i am always so confused about anti-ageing products. I am going to be 32 and thankfully my skin does not show any sign of ageing at the moment. So sometimes I feel I should stick to my normal moisturizer but sometimes i feel I should use anti- ageing. This indeed sounds good and glad it is for early 30s. Will try it.

    1. Thanks Surabhi… same pinch, me too going to be 32 next month. Even I felt the same before IMBB a year ago and thought my skin was the same but since I started using it I could see and feel the difference so do get something as we are not getting any younger. 🙁

  4. Aww is it for dry skin?? i ws abt to get it know as i completed 27 years this month so its time to look for good anti-ageing skin care regimen for me too.. 🙂 I own its face mask which is gud for all skin types. After getting impressed by nutriganics face mask i ws planning to get whole CTM kit from nutriganics bt need to stay away from this serum now as am super oily in summers.. 😛
If you like TBS pdts then do try pomegranate skin care pdts from TBS dear. I read fab reviews abt them and after nutriganics i’ll certainly try pomegranate series sumwhere around 34-35. 🙂

    1. Yes Neetu, The Nutriganics range is for dry skin. Don’t by any change get their entire range. I used their day and night cream during winters and it was great but with summers i have switched to Vit E moisturising cream. Can’t handle the greasiness. I too have the face mask and its great.
WIll check out the Naturalift range next about two-three years from now. THanks for the suggestion. 🙂

  5. Somehow the skin care from TBS doesn’t work for me.. I raid the TBS stall for bath & beauty.. neither the vit E range nor the sea weed range worked for me.. 🙁 How can I try this…???

    1. HI Esha, if vit E and sea weed didn’t work then I don’t think any of the skincare stuff at TBS would do wonders for us. Check out other brands dear. Try Nature’s co they have good organic stuff.

  6. I am looking for anti ageing products, I think It time to start with it but I couldn’t find something for my skin 🙁 After reading this I think I should give a try 🙂

  7. sounds suuuuper awesome nidhi. I’d def check this out. :)) I also have normal to dry skin.. feeling awesome after reading the review. hihihih thanks for sharing. 🙂

    1. This one’s really good Rati, one of the few from the TBS skincare range. Glad to know we have similar skin texture. Now I can try all those products that you do with ease for beautiful and glowing skin like yours. 🙂 🙂 🙂
