The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub Review

The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub Review

After using the jolly orange body scrub from TBS I couldn’t stop myself from trying the olive body scrub that I had bought already. The Olive body scrub comes in a cute little green tub that has this awesome pic of olives which makes the product more tempting – well, at least to me. I got the smaller tub – 50 ml and now planning to buy the bigger one so that it would last long. The packaging is the usual TBS scrub packaging, wish it was it a tube form, not a big con though.

The 50ml tub costs Rs.198 after 50% discount. I know it is so expensive if bought without any discount !!! But if you get addicted to this then you can never come out of it and there is a huge hole in your pocket for sure . The scrub smells so awesome. I am not sure whether this is how fresh olives smell but the fragrance is very soothing and calming. I love to relax myself while using this scrub so I take quite some time to come out of the shower. The fragrance does not last longer and that disappoints me a lot.

The scrub is not very coarse and hence I think it will su

it even sensitive skin. Note – Use it with a light hand. Do not try it on your face as that is the reason they have separate scrubs for face and body. Skin feels soft after using this scrub. Neither moisturises nor leaves my skin dry, so this does not bother me much. Since I have got a small tub after using 3-4 times the tub is half empty already. So even after 50% discount, each bath costs me Rs.25 . I know I am very calculative, just brushing up my basic Maths 😛

Pros of The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub:

• Smells so fresh and soothing. I love this fragrance totally.
• Leaves my skin smooth and soft.
• Not very harsh on skin.
• Easily available in all TBS outlets and also in other outlets. For Eg. Alankar, Trends in Chennai.
• Does not leave my skin dry.
• They do not test on animals.

Cons of The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub:

• Smell does not last long. It vanishes soon after the bath.
• Very expensive.
• Comes in a tub which is not very hygienic to use.
• Need a separate spatula. I bought one separately.
• Gets over pretty soon. Mine is already half empty.

My Rating – 3.5/5

Will I Repurchase – Yes, I want to but only when the same is available at 50% discount. Or, at least 30%.

I am pretty happy with the TBS Body Polish like the Satsuma Body Polish and Strawberry Body Polish. So I will stick on to that and might purchase these scrubs when I spot them during the sale time in The Body Shop. Else I feel it is not worth spending so much on a scrub, that too on a really tiny tub.

    1. Hey Neha.. there is a shop called Trends in Besant nagar.. i dunno if you’re talking about that.. this store is awesome.. they stock TBS stuff and even other brands’ salon-exclusive stuff like Matrix and Schwarzscopff (ok, excuse the spelling.. hehe) and TIGI etc.. you must chk it out… its close to that Spencers daily shop in besant nagar..

    2. Ya Neha it is the same shop mentioned by thepurplespirit.. and Alankar is in Anna Nagar.. They stock similar stuffs like she mentioned… Will let you know when there is a sale for sure.. might be we can go shopping together 😀

  2. O bought this for 50% too but I didn’t particularly like it….it smells weird and gets over so soon (all the TBS scrubs!!!) …and this one is still better at 300 bucks…the bigger tubs are 800-900 bucks and last for only 5-6 times 🙁 surely a luxury

    1. Oh really Swati !!!!! I thought the bigger ones last pretty longer 🙁 I liked the smell but as you said it is a luxury item for sure 😛

  3. Sounds like a sinfully good product… like tub packaging for one reason only, can use the tub to store stuff later :). Nice review Aarthi!
