The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub

The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub

Hello Ladies,

Today, I’ll be doing a review of The Body Shops Shea Body Scrub.

The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub

Product Description:

    • Best if you want to: Reveal softer, glowing skin with exfoliating salt grains and organic sugar in a moisturizing, oil-based scrub that has a fresh, classic scent.

  • Best for very dry skin.

How It Works:

  • Community Trade shea butter has antioxidant vitamins A and E to help protect and nourish skin.
  • Community Trade organic soy oil is very rich in essential fatty acids that help to repair skin’s moisture barrier, so skin is smooth and supple.
  • Community Trade organic sugar and salt grains gently exfoliate skin.

My Experience with The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub:

This is my second scrub from The Body Shop. I have another scrub which is Wild Cherry Body Scrub which I will review later.  I bought this scrub during winter time because I felt my dry skin needed a bit of exfoliation to keep it smooth. I had such a good experience with the Wild Cherry Scrub, so I had high expectations from Shea Scrub too, but I have mixed feelings about it. I love the fragrance, it has a sort of mild nutty and buttery smell, but as far as doing its job of exfoliating, it fails.  It does make my skin smooth and it leaves my skin smelling nice, but it is too oily with not enough scrub to it.

As soon as I put it on my hand and try to smear it onto my body, all the scrub already melts away. So, I wouldn’t even call it a scrub, more like a body oil. It will be great for dry skinned people. A lot of product is required for one-time full body scrub, so I think I will end up using this very fast. My skin does shine and feels moisturized after using it, so I normally do not do a followup with a lotion or body butter. I recommend this scrub for dry skin, not so much for oily skin.

Pros of The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub:

  • Leaves the skin smooth and shiny.
  • Leaves a moisturized “coating” on the skin.
  • Does not need a body lotion followup.
  • Body Shop claims they do not test on animals and use natural ingredients.
  • Smells lovely.
  • Great for winters.

Cons of The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub:

  • Can feel a little bit greasy.
  • Does not exfoliate well.
  • A lot of product is needed for a single use.
  • Expensive but I got it during sale 😀 .
