My Experience with The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Beautifying Oil:
I had an eye on The Body Shop’s Beautifying Oil ever since it came out in the market and I finally got one. It is available in the following scents: Brazil nut, Chocomania, Cocoa butter, coconut, mango, moringa, olive, pink grapefruit, satsuma, shea, strawberry and sweet lemon. I took a whiff of all the scents in the store and loved the scent of the sweet lemon the most.
The scent is light aromatic and very refreshing and citrusy. The scent does faintly linger on skin for around an hour. I have dry flaky skin and this does a wonderful job of moisturizing my skin and giving it a healthy sheen all day long. I have noticed my skin appears less dry even when I have washed it off.
It is a very lightweight oil and skin absorbs it almost instantly. It does not matter if you apply it on dry skin during the day or on damp skin after a bath. The effect are amazing. I initially thought the amount of product provided was very little compared to the price I paid, but it spreads very easily and you do not need much for a single use, so it will last you a long time, hence its worth the money.
I would not recommend using this on your hair or face. Although, it gave a nice shine to my hair, it made it very greasy and difficult to style. I washed it off the very next day. It would probably work for your hair if you have extremely dry hair and use very little amount like 2-3 drops for entire hair. This product is definitely recommended, a nice change from using regular body lotion and butters.
Pros of The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Beautifying Oil:
- Amazing scent.
- Lightweight oil.
- Does not make skin greasy or sticky.
- Gives a nice sheen to the skin.
- Makes skin soft and supple and keeps it moisturized even when it is washed off.
Cons of The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Beautifying Oil:
- Would not recommend using it on hair and face.
- Would not recommend for people with oily skin and hair.
- Better get it during sale.
- Could have had better packaging.

Yay, for TBS fragrances, I am a fan of such fragrances Neha 🙂
sounds like a nice product… *haan ji*
I am definitely getting this….nice review 🙂
nice post neha…. *clap* *clap* *clap* …..but may i know the reason why you wont recomend for face? i have very dry facial skin even in summers and was planning to buy one of these oils *scared* *scared* *scared*
hey shruti oils can clog pores..i also have kind of dry combination skin but never used oil in face and in summer, its really irritating to have a sticky body, and the humidity doesn’t let the oil to be absorbed immedietly. so i prefer some light, non greasy moisturizer for the whole body, and for skin a nourishing skin moisturizing lotion…
thanks for the advice nadia *puchhi* ….but i use tbs vitamin e day cream still my skin turns dry *cry* *cry* *cry* *cry*
then i would advise u to consult a dermatologist. may be u are not taking enough liquid( water, juice or even vegetables)…i suggest you to drink almost 8 glasses of water( its painful i know) and eat juicy fruits and vegetables regularly…i drink a lot of water and i am noticing the change in my skin *haan ji* my skin is so much supple and healthy than never before…but if u already doing all these things then really i would suggest u to go for a professional help…
Hey thanks.. nice review.. Love the packaging 🙂
thany you so much for your advice nadia…i will use your nuska *haan ji* *haan ji* *haan ji*
