The Body Shop Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser Review

Hi Friends,

I am back on IMBB after a long break and I have loads of products to review here. This one is about a recent TBS product that I purchased and it is the tea tree foaming cleanser.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser

About the Product:

A refreshing instant foaming cleanser to gently but effectively cleanse the skin, removing make-up, dirt and impurities. Regular use helps keep skin blemish free, refreshed and calm.

Ingredients:

Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser contains the following key ingredients.  Community Trade tea tree oil from The Kenya Organic Farmers’ Association (KOOFA) – Has natural purifying antibacterial properties. Is grown in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Helps to strengthen and develop the local economy and create vital employment on the farms, providing opportunities for local people to stay in their community White willow extract – Contains a natural salicylic acid that helps to effectively clear and tone the skin.  Menthol – Creates a cool tingling sensation on the skin. Leaves skin feeling refreshed.

Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Coco-Glucoside (Surfactant), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil (Natural Additive), Glycerin (Humectant), Calophyllum Inoph.

How To Use?

Wet the face with clean water. Massage onto the face and neck using your fingertips. Rinse off with clean water and pat skin dry.

Packaging:

I mainly purchased this as the pump bottle was very attractive and I felt that it would be handy for travel purpose.  The packaging is great.  The bottle has never leaked.  I usually take 4 pumps of the product to wash my face.

Price and Quantity:

Well, I have been using the gel cleanser of the same brand and felt that this is of much lesser quantity.  Every time, I have to take 4 pumps of it, and only then, I feel like my face is clean.  It comes in a 150 ml bottle for Rs. 595 whereas the gel cleanser costs Rs. 425 for 250 ml.

My Experience with The Body Shop Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser:

This is the first time that I am using a foaming face wash and I must say I hate it.  I don’t even feel like there is some product on the face.  The fragrance is the same as the gel cleanser, but it has not done anything to reduce or prevent pimples.  I bought this mainly for travel as the gel cleanser comes only in a bottle.  I have loved TBS products but am disappointed with this one.

Would I Repurchase?

Never.

My Rating:

1/5 just for the packaging.

  1. TBS wale aise kiye :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: i thought they always made wonder products in terms of skin and hair care :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: ,now me more hooked to IMBB for every review then only buying :haanji: :haanji: :haanji:

  2. I would have picked this one without even thinking . The words ‘tea tree’ and foaming are just so appealing to me 😐
Thanks a lot for the review Preetha

  3. bt preetha it does nt say naa that it would control pimples… actually am nt too sure who tea tree skin care works but does it help in cleaning the face?

    1. Hi Rati..According to the TBS website, the teatree range mainy claims to prevent pimples and clear the skin. The gel cleanser from this range is just awesome and has really cleared my skin.My only problem was the packaging.I thought this would be similar but it is just a waste of money according to me.This range is mainly for people with imperfections.

  4. Hi preetha thanks for the review :waytogo: i am suffering from serious pimple problem these days which are leaving scary marks behind :yikes: thats why i was thinking to give a try to some tea tree product if not this then can you guys suggest me something else please

  5. me too having pimples n zits esp in ma V-zone… any idea beauties!!!

  6. Duh! Im really surprised to read this negative review! I know this doesnt make sense but i always had this notion that products made in India or sold in India are not of that good quality having had experience with Olay White, Neutrogena Dry Touch, L’oreal Pearl White etc etc…. I know they are of the same company but somehow i feel the quality gets compromised! So even thou Body Shop is available here i usually tell my parents/brother/relatives abroad to get me the required stuff…and that is true for this facewash! i got mine from Dubai and its absolutely amazing!! i require only 2 pumps of the product to cover my face and neck, still it feels like i use more but still i use 2 pumps coz 1 feels a lil less thou manageable…so im a lil surprised that u said even tho u use 4 pumps u hardly get any product on ur face! Regardn whether it clears up face or not i kinda dun have an idea coz i get pimples once in a while and those are kinda unpredictable…thou in terms of qty, ur definitely right…gel cleanser lasts forever!!!
