My Experience with the Microdermabrasion Scrub

I had been reading very often about the effects of Microdermabrasion on the Skin, it helps in evening out the skin tone by removing the layer of dead skin from the surface. But professional treatments cost a lot like 1500/sitting and have some “gone-wrong” cases as well. Plus the after treatment skin care because top layer of the skin is completely removed to expose the new fresh layer below, so the skin is more susceptible to Sun Damage.
So, when I heard about this at home treatment I was pretty excited. But since this product isn’t that cheap and I didn’t want to waste money on a product that didn’t work I tried to find some reviews online. Most of them said good stuff about it so I bought it to try for myself!

It is a pretty thick scrub and its non-runny paste-like consistency. Smell is a little vague but has citrusy hints in it! The exfoliating particles as very fine and sand-like. It should be used not more than once a week so it is my Sunday scrub to give me nice skin push for the week.

I wet cleanse my face with a mild cleaner and then take as little amount spread it out in my hands and rub it gently all over my face and neck. The particles are very fine, it seems as though one is rubbing very fine sand on the skin. It does remind me of the Home made Baking Soda scrub as well. I scrub for around 2-3 minutes and then leave it for 1 minute on face and then just wash it off with a gentle rub again.

The Result

I can assure you that you will be amazed by the smoothness of your skin post usage of the scrub! It is unbelievable my skin feels so smooth and soft. I follow it with a Vitamin E Moisture Cream to retain skin’s moisture.
I am usually tempted to use it in the middle of the week as well and to tell the truth sometimes I even do because the result is so great.
I had large pore around my nose and some skin pigmentation pre-usage. But after having used for almost one and a half month I can see my skin refined and complexion in more even toned. I am positive that it will improve further by continued usage.

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion

1. Great product for brightening and evening-out the complexion.
2. Product comes in a tube, so one can just use as much product as one wants and avoid wastage and contamination.
3. Good as a home care product as it can be usage whenever you want without the hassles of booking a professional service.
4. Great results I am not sure if comparable with the professional treatments as I have never gotten one.
5. Last a long time because you need very little and that too once a week. I think it should atleast last me till the sale in February next year…! 🙂

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion

1. The Price – well it is big factor but comparing it to the costs of professional treatment it doesn’t sound that much.
2. Can cause damage to the skin if used with heavy hand. So one need to use it with less pressure.
Apart from the Price I can’t think of anything that I don’t like about this product…I am in love with it.

Would you recommend it?

I would recommend it to any who needs a quick lift for the skin!

Would you repurchase it?

Yes, for as long as body shop continues to make it!
Stars – :star: :star: :star: :star: + 1/2 (-1/2 for the price)

  8. Hey…thanks up there fr the review!

even ive heard enuf about microdermabrasion!!
and ive been checking them out…but m totally lost!

i heard alot about the neutrogena’s healthy skin rejuvenator, mary kay n olay…are they good? besides i dont find them here in india!:(

so wat all abrasion kits can i find here in india…

i came across ponds anti aging microdermabrasion kit…how is that??

which one would you recommend?? in term of perfomance and price??

Thnks! m really in a dire need of an abrasion kit!! hope u respond soon! :struggle:

  9. I bought this after seeing the good reviews…I got a very sensitive skin, When i started using it……..After a single usage My facial skin was a kinda peeled off and I could see my skin reacting badly…..pimples and my facial skin was broken lightly and now its a kinda ok…I can tell that my face complexion has improved…skin became more bright..But I was a kinda embarrassed to go out with my broken skin. So people who go for work…I don’t recommend this to you…if the peeling part doesn’t bother you..thn go ahead and get this…
As it is a microdermabrasion one I believe this peeling is a part of the whole process..I meant that is how it work….But when I saw my facial skin peeled off..i was scared…But today when I got up..I’d see a lot of change …My skin is back to normal..After all the bad days I had…Finally It started showing results…I am happy that my skin texture and complexion is improved…
