The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum

Hi Ladies,

Today, I’m going to review a skincare product from “The Body Shop.”  It is the Vitamin E Moisture Cream.  As I have oily/combination skin, I had not been using moisturiser routinely. However, after I started getting dry patches around my lips, I seriously thought about using a serum at night time. Because I had received a tiny pot of The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream as a sample and had liked it, I didn’t think twice to buy this serum when I saw it at TBS.

My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum:

This serum is actually to be used as a pre-moisturiser, but I sometimes get away with using only this at night. On other days, I use the moisturiser from the same range on top of this serum.  I guess ladies with oily skin can get away with using this serum on its own. All products from The Body Shop Vitamin E range have the same fragrance, I would rather call it a smell. :haanji:  It isn’t bad but not one of my favourite fragrances. :haanji:

This serum comes in a transparent bottle with a pump dispenser which works well in dispensing exactly the correct amount.  The product is white in colour and is almost transparent.  The consistency is like a soft gel. This serum is extremely lightweight and sinks in easily with no need for excessive rubbing. Also, it feels cool just after applying. I have almost finished this product and have been using it at least 3 or 4 nights per week. I use two pumps for my face and neck. This lasted me for about three months now. I feel the dry spells I was experiencing around my lips have reduced a lot.  Also, I feel my moisturiser is also getting absorbed better with this serum. I haven’t experienced any irritation/clogged pores or blemishes with this product.

All and all, I would say good to try if you have oily/combination skin and you will need just a bit of extra moisture when avoiding very heavy cream. However, if you have dry skin, this serum alone is not enough and should definitely be followed by a moisturiser.

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum:

  • I love the pump dispenser, it is very hygienic.
  • Leaves skin moisturised without adding too much oiliness to the skin.
  • Contains vitamin E.
  • The Body Shop products are available in many countries. :happydance:
  • Makes absorption of moisturiser easier.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum:

  • Contains many parabens.
  • Expensive at $27.95 for just $30 ml.
  • I’m not too fond of the fragrance.

IMBB Rating:

3.75/5

Will I Repurchase The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum?

Even though I quite like this product, the fact that it contains parabens in a serum is a big turn-off for me.  Moreover, it is quite pricey. Also, since I have almost finished this, I’m going to look out for serums from other brands first.

    1. Hi Rati ,

yes you should….. the only two I have tried are this one and the moisture cream… I love the moisture cream , I finished using it , so couldnt write a review. However I wouldnt find even 1 con for the moisture cream…..

  1. Hi Supriya, Nice Review  Even I love the vitamin E range. I am using their Vitamin E oil and last week purchased the night cream too. :yahoo: Very happy with both of them. :pompom:
If you are concerned about the paraben in this serum, do try the vitamin e oil which can be used just like a serum. It does not contain paraben i think and is a mixture of different oils rich in vitamin E. 🙂

      1. I don’t think so Supriya. I have combination skin. The oil gets absorbed pretty fast and after an hour, barely any trace remains. But it is best to use at night if you are worried about looking oily in the daytime if you have very oily skin. :specs:

  2. Thanks for the nice review Supriya !!
I’ve been waiting to lay my hands on TBS Vit. E range and after reading this post…I’m definitely going to grab ’em soon :yahoo: :yahoo:
