The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator Review

Hello Friends,

As we all know that exfoliation is a very integral part of skin care regime and if not done on a regular basis can cause accumulation of dead cells and skin darkening. In today’s environment of increasing pollution, it has become more of a necessity.  We can keep ourselves covered but the “face” still remains the most exposed part unless we plan to use a veil or burkha at all times. Now, getting on to the actual point, I am going to review a very good exfoliator that I have been using for quite some time and would like to share with you all. It’s the Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator by The Body Shop.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator Review

Price and Packaging Details:

Rs. 620 for 75 ml. This exfoliator comes in a light pink color tube packaging (this color is associated with all Vitamin E products by The Body Shop) with a flip on lid that makes it convenient to carry and is travel friendly.  The small pocket size can be accommodated in any purse or bag.  You can also see the amount of product that is remaining as the tube is translucent, so you would never wake up one morning to squeeze and find the tube empty 😛

Ingredients:

Aqua, Glycerin, Octyl Palmitate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycine soja, Polyethylene, Triticum vulgare, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Benzyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum parkii, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Jojoba Esters, Sodium Hydroxide, Parfum, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Citronellol, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene, Citral, Eugenol, Farnesol, CI 73360, CI 14700.

What’s Written on the Packaging:

Kind and gentle soap-free skin smoothening formula with added antioxidant protection. Suitable for all skin types.

Instructions For Use:

The Body Shop products do not come with instructions, but this is what I gathered from their website: Wet the face and neck with clean water. Massage over the face and neck using light circular motions. Rinse off with clean water and pat skin dry. “Use one or two times per week or as required.” This was said by the salesperson too, so my suggestion would be to follow it up seriously.

Cream Exfoliator

The cream is light pink in color and thick in consistency, not something that oozes out as soon as you open the lid.  Its very light to touch and contains numerous micro-particles that are not visible to the naked eye except a few red-colored ones. When you apply, you can feel its granular texture that scrubs and exfoliates the skin with gentleness. My skin is of the combination type (normal to dry skin) and I usually apply it at night before bed twice a week and can feel my skin soft and smooth.

It is not harsh on the skin, and does not make it dry or tight after washing. Also, I haven’t felt the need to moisturize right after. It is absolutely soap free as it claims and does not lather like other scrubs. One can feel the difference from the first wash itself. According to me, its a light and creamy facial scrub that exfoliates gently without irritating the skin, leaving it feeling smooth, soft and refined.

Exfoliator

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator:

  • Packaging is sturdy and travel friendly.
  • Soap free and creamy texture.
  • Gentle on the skin and doesn’t dry it out.
  • Does not cause any form of irritation.
  • Makes skin smooth and soft.
  • Good value for money.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator:

  • Apart from the fact that it contains parabens in various forms, could not find any other con, but these days most of the products tend to contain them in some form or the other.

Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator?

Absolutely, as its not harsh on the skin, doesn’t make it dry, makes it soft and smooth and a small amount is enough. I have already been using this exfoliator for over a month and the quantity is enough to last me for about the next 4 months as per the usage instructions. I would certainly recommend for at least one time trial.  You are going to love it.

Wow… nice review nidhi…. am definitely gng to try this out since it says all skin types.. mine is oily skin and i do scrubbing every week..with lotus papaya scrub which has been my favourite for a while… did you find any signs of breaking out by using this scrub? i have very sensitive skin and i need to be extra careful while using any products..
