Boe Beauty Lip Gloss Knock Out Red Review

I had mentioned in my previous post that on my last trip to a beauty supply store, I saw this Boe beauty stand with a few lip products on display and although they didn’t appear that appealing, I bought a few products since they were so cheap and I was looking out for a thick lip gloss with water finish.  Read on to know more about this product.

My Take on Boe Beauty Lip Gloss in the shade Knock Out Red:

It is not a widely known brand and since Boe Beauty is an Australian beauty brand and it’s not that easily available in stores, but I had a chance encounter with it at my local drug store and decided to buy these especially for everyday wear when I don’t have time to layer products on my lips to get a perfect pout.

Packaging:  Long tube packaging, nearly the size of my palm with a very unique brush tip and a twist up cap to protect it. Usually such tube lip glosses have a nozzle with a small hole to dispense product, but this one is unique since it has a brush applicator to evenly spread the product on the lips.

Texture:  Very thick but not gooey or sticky and spreads easily. It does not form a thick layer on the lips, but just a thin film or water finish.

Color: In the tube, the product appears to be cherry red, but on the lips, it gives more of a pink rather than red color which can be built up with more layers; however, since it is a lip gloss, one cannot expect a full on coverage.

Pigmentation: It is not as pigmented as a lipstick or a higher end shine intense lip gloss, but still, I would say that it does a decent job in covering lip pigmentation to a certain extent and also imparts a cherry red color.

Shimmer and Shine:  I personally despise lip products with shimmer particles; it just looks tacky, hence I go for either matte or water/glass finish lip products. This product has no shimmer particles and has a pretty water shine which looks good with any makeup look.

Fragrance: The product has a very appealing fruity fragrance and it’s very pleasant. The scent stays for the whole time the product lasts on the lips.

Staying Power:  We all know lip glosses do not have good staying power and they need reapplication every few hours; same is true for this product as well. The wear time is not that short and it does not vanish that easily, but the gloss needs to be reapplied every 3 to 4 hours.

This product is cute and good, especially for school and college-going girls and since it is so affordable and worth a try. Also, for just $2, you get a lot of product which can last for a while. It’s one of those products that one can just throw in the hand bag and and dig it out when in need.

• Not as red as mentioned.

Would I Repurchase Boe Beauty Lip Gloss in the shade Knock Out Red?

Maybe not because it will last me a while but might buy other shades in this range. College girls should totally think of buying it.
