Get that Bohemian Look

Bohemian Look

Dressing is all about expressing yourself. Some like to dress in an elegant way while, for some casual is the way to go. Now, one look that is continuously strengthening it hold in the fashion is the bohemian style.

Bohemian or Boho look is layered, with loose, flowing fashions and accessories. This style is all about looking great but natural at the same time.

This post will help you get that boho-chic look of Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, Sienna Miller etc without trying too hard.

Layering different outfits is the key part to achieve the boho-chic look. Layering is not about trying to wear ton of clothes at once, it’s all about adding just the right amount of volume to give yourself a polished look. Look for tops with beading, embroidery, floral prints, crochet details and super-trendy butterflies to wear with wide leg jeans or cut off shorts. Remember that you don’t have to wear baggy clothes to be Boho, wear clothes that fit well.

Grab earthy colours like black, brown, grey, gold, khaki to nail this style. Combine them with bright colours without loosing the feel of neutral colours.

Accessories are very important to get the right look. Boho girls generally like to wear chunky jewellery. Hippy pieces, gemstones, beads and gunmetal are all favourites. Don’t restrict yourself you can wear plenty of bracelets, ankle bracelets, mix-and-match necklaces, dangling earrings etc (but you must know where to stop). The idea is to make sure that they become a noticeable part of your look.

• Large over-the-shoulder bags made of leather or print fabrics are preferred for this look. Hobo bags with some quirky details like a fringe, tassel etc are more popular in the bohemian fashion. As for shoes clogs, sandals and loose-fitting boots score as favourites.

• Don’t go overboard when it comes to hair and makeup, keep it natural. Boho girls like to keep hair long, wavy or curly, rather than straight or short. Try to add some volume to your hair incase you have naturally straight or short hair. Some details such as braids are also popular amongst boho-chic girls. As for makeup try to keep is as natural as possible. Wear as little foundation as possible, use lip balm or lip conditioner in nude shades. You can use lots of mascara and bold eyeliner but, for eye shadows stick to warm, natural shades.

• Big droopy summer hats, large-lens sunglasses in dark tones complement the look. You can experiment with scarves to add a bohemian feel to any wardrobe.

Use these tips to create your own boho look. But, remember to be flexible and confident in your taste. Don’t be shy to experiment and incorporate your own style to keep the look fresh and unique.
