Bollywood Celebs ‘Shining & Waxed’ at Madame Tussauds

In the glitzy world of Hollywood, Madam Tussauds is no strange name. This famous museum is known worldwide for housing the wax twins of some of the very famous celebrities from around the world. In the recent years, Bollywood stars too, have been fortunate enough to have their own wax “twins” being featured here. True that some of the statues do not do justice to the magnificent persona of original stars, but having their own waxed version at the world famous celebrities museum, is quite a feat.

Let us have a look at some of these stars of Indian Film Industry, who have done us immense proud by getting themselves “waxed” at Madam Tussauds.

Bollywood Celebs 'Shining & Waxed' at Madame Tussauds

Amitabh Bachchan

The sixth Indian and the first Bollywood star to get a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds. This was no surprise. The legendary actor deserved this space, given the laurels that he has brought to the country, with his achievements and contributions in the world of cinema. The superstar’s wax statues have been placed in New York, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Washington DC, and one more is all set to be launched in Sydney.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Though, she was not a “Bachchan” at that time, but it was a matter of time that this diva got her waxed version at the museum. For those who do not know, Aishwarya is the first Indian celebrity whose wax model was put on display at the Madame Tussauds Museum in Times Square, New York.

Shahrukh Khan

When you talk of Bollywood legends, we simply cannot forget King Khan. Apparently, the thoughts are same worldwide. The waxed version of the King of Bollywood was unveiled soon at Madame Tussauds, and he joined league with Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, to become one of the few elites to join the waxed statue club at Madame Tussauds. Clad in a black suit, with the trademark dimpled smile, he looks as much a heartthrob in wax, as he is in real life.

Salman Khan

The most popular Khan among the masses of India, entered the elite “Wax” Club soon after his arch rival Shahrukh did. The ironical part is, for those who thought that they could never see Salman and Aish peacefully under one roof, finally got their wish granted in Madame Tussauds. So what if they are just wax statues?

Hrithik Roshan

Known as the “Greek god” of Bollywood, Hrithik’s statue was unveiled in his most desirable avatar yet, that of the legendry thief “A” from Dhoom. Though the statue does not do complete justice to the actual living and talking actor, who has female fans swooning every time he comes on screen, the wax statue is enough to make us drool. Wonder what Hrithik’s thinking here? “Who’s hotter?” Sigh! We are thinking the same Hrithik, trust our accelerated heartbeats.

Madhuri Dixit

Ouch! Did you miss a beat? We certainly did. The “Dhak Dhak” diva too got immortalized at the famous museum. Though, the waxed smile comes nowhere close to the dazzling beauty of this diva, it still makes men go weak in their knees. Clad in a pink saari, the beautiful actress looks every bit as gorgeous as she is in real life, just without her chirpiness and lively smile.

Kareena Kapoor

Now here comes a bit of a disaster. Honestly, how Kareena managed to keep her smile perfect for the cameras, after taking a look at her waxed version, is a perfect mystery. The figurine comes nowhere close to this beautiful style icon, and certainly nowhere close to the character of “Geet” on which it has been based. Nevertheless, we have the real diva with us here, and we are proud that she has been featured at Madame Tussauds at such a young age.

Honorary Mention: Katrina Kaif

Exactly what Katrina has done to deserve being waxed, alongside the legends, is a mystery. Of course, apart from looking pretty and decked up in all the movies that she has been in, till date. Anyway, she is all set to be unveiled at Madam Tussauds London, and we are proud to have yet another person from our Film Industry, to be immortalized in wax.

Here was the list of all the celebs that have been waxed at the famous Madame Tussauds, and thereby, have been immortalized forever. If you think that I have missed someone, do let me know. 😀

  1. Now that you talk of Katrina Kaif (and I totally agree that her contribution to Bollywood films is zilch! Zippa! Nil!) ,I can’t think of a reason as to why Salman Khan received a wax statue as well :\ Although it seems that as Sallu and SRK are getting older, their choice of films are becoming sillier and sillier. And,COME ON! No Aamir Khan?? What has Salman Khan done that us above Tare Zameen Par or Lagaan or 3 Idiots? Don’t get ne wrong,Im not a hater of any of the Khans-but you know, sometimes it makes you wonder that in what basis are these “stars” getting honoured? Popularity, seems like.

    1. That’s a great point Shreya 🙂 I’m sure Aamir must have been approached to have a wax figure built on him. If he did get an offer and if he did refuse it, then my respect for him sort of increases. I mean, come to think of it, it sounds so bizarre to have a statue built just like you, when you could do so much more with the power that comes with fame. Like the way he’s done with Satyamev Jayate.

      1. I agree with you both. SRK ka to is totally justified. He ruled two decades of romance, though I don’t like his and farah khan-rohit shetty kinda movies, no way 🙂 Salman’s I too don’t understand, maybe because of his popularity among the masses. And yep, Aamir Khan deserves a wax statue at Madame Tussauds, the way he has evolved himself as an actor, and a social reformer, truly commendable. 🙂

  2. Please excuse any grammatical or spelling errors. Was in a bit of a hurry and typing on a mobile phone can be a pain. 🙂

  3. OMG kareena’s statue looks unbelievable ….sooo soo close to how she is in real life. i dint know madhuri also had a statue at madame tussads. fun post always kadambari 🙂

    1. Thaaaanks Rati ma’am 🙂 Kareena’s face looks close enough, but rest of it looked botchy to me. I found aishwarya’s gown statue the best. 🙂

  4. Loved reading through Kads! Gawwwd I can’t believe Katrina is one of them 😐 And Kareena looks like a cartoon :’D I mean she has such a nice smile in real life but the wax statue looks so bad 😐 SRK as well 😐

    1. Thaaaanks Princy 😀 Haan yaar Kareena doesn’t look good here. 🙁 And SRK is just okay okay. They can never capture that smile in stone. 😉
