Bollywood Show Stoppers at Lakme India Winter Fashion Week 2015

Lakme India Fashion Week (LFW) is one such fashion event, where we look forward to see the dazzling stars in their designer costumes on the runway. Also, we get the glimpse of upcoming fashion trends for the season. Recently, Lakme India Winter Fashion Week, 2015 was held in Mumbai. This season was more about fashion and less gossip. Simple, cool, practical, wearable, old meet new, traditional designs dominated this season.

Let us have a look at the Bollywood Show Stoppers, who walked the ramp this season!

Kareena Kapoor Khan:

 

Kareena, who is also the brand ambassador of Lakme, walked the ramp for designer, Gaurav Gupta on the season finale. She looked stunningly beautiful in her black gown. Even Kareena herself admitted that this was her best until now in Lakme Fashion week. Gaurav Gupta launched “the sculpt” line, which is about forms and cuts. The cuts on Mrs. Khan’s gown, made her look classy and sexy at the same time. Basic colors like white, red and black dominated Gaurav’s creation.  I wonder, does Kareena really used Lakme products to look this good? Any thoughts on this?

Dia Mirza:

Let us move on to another twinkling star in black, Dia Mirza. She walked the ramp for designer, Anita Dogre in a simple black maxi gown, which had a desi touch to it. Anita Dogre launched her “Grassroot” with a sole intention of bringing back the ancient handicrafts of India like embroidery from Gujrat, ikat from Karnataka and Hyderabad, gotta patti from Rajasthan and weaves of Banaras. Also, she launched her seven minutes documentary film called “Banaras: A Woven Story”. This film intends to draw attention to the plight of weavers in modern times. Icing on the cake was, when the artisans themselves started walking on the ramp in gorgeous traditional lehangas amidst the standing ovation. “They are the real show stoppers of this season”, said Anita Dogre and we could not agree more with her.

Vir Das as Show Stopper and Designer:

The actor cum stand-up comedian turned designer, the perennially funny man, Vir Das launched some really cool unisex tee- shirts and boxers at LFW. His line of collection is known as “Weirdass Comedy” (no surprises in naming!). His celeb friends walked the ramp for him and the list included Aditi Rao Hydari, Sophie Chaudhry, Cyrus Sahukar and Kunal Kapoor. Their walk was the coolest thing about this season. Vir Das’s collections are available on online websites and are really affordable. In an interview given to Indian Express, Vir Das said about his collection, “Your T-shirt says a lot about who you are. Your underwear says a lot about who you want to be with. If you are witty, dark, sexy, vain, lost in life or obsessed with one direction, it is on your clothing. A T-shirt is like an advertisement for the person inside, so if you are an idiot like me, let the world know. That is what this line is about, being an idiot and making it sexy”.

Maliaka Arora Khan:

Whenever I look at Maliaka, I think that God has really made her age proof. Whether she is a talented dancer or an actor by chance is a really controversial question, but there could not be two opinions on her being a true fashionista of Bollywood and a trend setter. Maliaka Arora Khan showcased the bridal wear for designer, Arpita Mehta. The heavy mirrored modernized lehenga looked amazing on our ‘Munni’.

Ranbir Kapoor:

Let us forget your husband/boyfriend for a few minutes and enjoy the picture of Ranbir Kapoor in Manish Malthora’s designed clothes. Manish Malhotra, who is favorite among almost all the female celebrities, launched his line for men for the first time and it is called “The Gentlemen’s Club”. It is a special thing, as it marks the commencement of a new journey for a decade-old hallowed label. “This new collection is for the confident, impeccably groomed man, who likes to mix it up, a modern perspective blended with rich Indian tradition.”, he said to IBN.

Neha Sharma:

Bollywood actress, Neha Sharma, walked on the runway for designer Khem, Prem Kumar. Khem was established in 2010 by Khushboo and Prem. Khem is an Egyptian word use for referring Gods of Pyramid. He describes his work as “simple yet elegant”. Blue and black were the main colors in his line of collection. Neha Sharma looked amazing in this dress. I also liked her natural make up look.

Nimrat Kaur:

This gorgeous lehanga is what you need for this wedding season. Nimrat Kaur, the talented actress walked on the ramp for designer, Payal Singhal. She presented her line “Maya”, which is inspired by the crafts and times of Mesopotamian culture.

Shradhha Kapoor:

Shradhha Kapoor looked fab in white and silver jump suit created by designer, Namrata Joshipura.  The unique thing about her creation was use of LED lights as accessories on the ramp.

Ileana D’Cruz:

This season you have got a lot of options to choose from, if you have a wedding to attend. Aren’t this pink and silver lehanga every bride’s dream? Ileana D’cruz lehanga is designed by Anushree Reddy.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra:

Last but not the least is Mrs. Kundra. She showcased the traditional lehanga designed by Divya Reddy.
