Boots 100% Cotton Wool Puffs Review

Boots 100% Cotton Wool Puffs Review

Hello everyone,

It’s been long since I wanted to review this. Well, I got this long ago and had clicked pictures too and then completely forgot about it. I never paid much attention about which type of cotton I used for cleansing, toning and removing my makeup until I came across Rati’s post on The Body Shop Organic Cotton Rounds.  It was then that I decided to purchase cosmetic cotton pads.  So, when I visited the “Beauty Palace” located at Crawford Market, I found these cotton puffs. I had never used anything from Boots and so thought of trying these out as they were quite inexpensive too.

Price:

Since I had purchased this long ago, I can’t remember the exact price, but it costed somewhere around Rs.100-Rs.120 for 160 puffs.

Packaging:

These cotton puffs come packed in an ordinary zip lock bag. I am quite okay with this packaging as it seals well and keeps the cotton puffs away from dust. I have used other cotton puffs too which came in a cylindrical plastic bag with a drawstring opening, which leaves a tiny hole at the opening if you are not too careful while pulling the drawstring. For this sole reason, I prefer the zip lock packaging.

My Take on Boots 100% Cotton Wool Puffs:

I normally store about 10-11 cotton puffs in an airtight tub. This tub earlier had my favorite body cream.  So that way I don’t have to open the entire zip lock bag again and again.

My skin loves these soft cotton puffs. My skin feels far better ever since I have ditched the coarse regular cotton. Had Rati not mentioned the importance of using cosmetic cotton, I would have never known how good it feels. So, thanks a ton for that review Rati 🙂

These are square shaped and fairly big and one puff is enough to remove makeup from the face. These cotton pads are quite soft on both the sides. I have soaked them in rose water and used them over my eyes too and they retain the rose water quite long as they are thick.

It looks as if they have a seal along their width on parallel sides. I am not too sure why this exists, but it could be there to seal the compressed layers of cotton.

I peel them into half when using them for removing polishes as they are thick and I don’t feel the need to use such thick pads for nail polish removal.

Boots Cotton Puffs 6

As you can see in the image above, even after peeling into half, the puff is still quite thick.

I use these pads for cleansing, toning and for removal of eye makeup too. These puffs are very gentle and go soft on skin. They do not leave behind lint. These cotton wool puffs are inexpensive for the quantity and will last me quite long.  I cannot compare them with The Body Shop cotton rounds as I have never used them, but from the pictures in Rati’s review, Body Shop one’s look softer than these.

So, the next, I am definitely going to try them out.

Pros of Boots 100% Cotton Wool Puffs:

  • Gentle on skin.
  • Does not leave behind lint.
  • Inexpensive.
  • Single puff is enough to remove makeup from face.
  • Retains water well and hence act as good eye masks too.
  • Good quality.
  • Good packaging.
  • Use of 100% cotton.

Cons of Boots 100% Cotton Wool Puffs:

  • Availability in India could be an issue.

IMBB Rating:

5/5.
