My Views on Boots 17 Starry Eyes Trio Eyeshadow – Moondust:

I have owned this eyeshadow trio for quite some time now and had used it 3-4 times and so thought of sharing the reviews of the same with you all. This is a beautiful and pocket-friendly wonderful product from the Boots 17 brand that is durable too and offers a great mix of eye shadows in 4 different shades.

Blue

The “Moondust” trio offers 2 shades, one of which is a dark navy blue and the other being lighter metallic blue color. Both these colors have metallic finish with no visible shimmer. The third shade in the trio is a glittery silver eyeshadow.  The shimmer is quite obvious in this shade.

Silver

Both the blue eyeshadows are highly pigmented. They are smooth and go easily on the eyes. They blend also superbly. There is minimum fall-out of both these colors. All in all, one can easily use these shades.

The silver eyeshadow in this trio has quite obvious glitters. This eyeshadow is the least pigmented of the 3 colors. One really has to swipe the eyeshadow brush 3-4 times to pick up some color. This shade has some noticeable fall out too, actually the glitter flies away easily, so it is better to first pat on the eyeshadow on the eyes and then blending it with a light hand. I find the texture of the silver eyeshadow a little chalky too.

Coming to the shades, all these 3 can be used either individually or together to create some brilliant eye looks. Although, the silver is a little chunky, yet it is a great highlighter shade and can be used to blend in the darker shades pretty well.

The packaging is what I like the most. I really like the fact that all the 3 shades are given separate spacious compartments unlike most of the quads these days where all eyeshadows tend to overlap each other. The black plastic case is sturdy and has a screw cap which would not loosen at any point of time. It is a totally a travel-friendly packaging.

Just check the size of the trio.

Trio

Summarizing, it is not something that I adore a lot; still I find it a great product at a decent price. So, here are the great and not-so-great points of this trio:

Pros of Boots 17 Starry Eyes Trio Eyeshadow – Moondust:

  • Great product at a decent price.
  • Highly pigmented and smooth textured eyeshadow.
  • Minimum fall-out.
  • Stays on easily for 8 hours with negligible fading/creasing on top of a primer.
  • Colors are pigmented but the intensity can be increased if a proper base is used.
  • Waterproof and does not smudge or run away when they come in contact with water.
  • Easy to wash off with the help of a normal cleanser.
  • Comes in a sturdy and travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of Boots 17 Starry Eyes Trio Eyeshadow – Moondust:

  • The silver eyeshadow in the trio is not much pigmented and the texture is a bit chalky.
  • The glitter in the silver eyeshadow tends to fly away, so better to use it with a lighter hand.
  • Availability is limited and available online.
  • A proper primer is needed for making the shades to pop out and to make them last more.

Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Boots 17 Starry Eyes Trio Eyeshadow – Moondust?

Yes, in a different color. I like the single eyeshadows of Boots 17 a lot and I think that these are a nice option if one wants to pick an array of portable shades together. Most of them are even sold as single eyeshadow shades by 17. The shimmer in them makes them great for night time wear. These are totally recommendable.

Now, I have done two different EOTDs using this trio. Both the pictures are taken in flash light. Sorry for my unkempt eye brows. 🙁 🙁

Eotd 1

This EOTD is done by using the light blue on the lid and navy blue in the crease and outer corner with the silver as a highlight.

eotd 2

Here, I have used the navy blue as a liner first and the light blue on the lid blended in the crease by the silver e/s and also using silver as a highlighter.
