Hi lovely ladies,
I shall be reviewing a lip colour today which I bought without even checking the tester. Actually, there was a sale going on at the Boots counter and there was a mad rush of people. So I picked up whatever I could lay my hands on. Please read on further to find out how this turned out to be .
Product being reviewed: Boots No 7 Mineral Lip 20 Sweet Plum Lipstick.
Price/ Quantity/ Packaging:
I think it was around 40 Baht for 3.3gms of the product. It comes in an opaque brownish green lipistick case. The cap clicks shut tightly . The twist up bottom works fine to reveal the lipistick. The top has been cut out in a slant design to match with the slant lipistick inside thought not much of a use but looks classy. There is a small sticker placed beneath the casing with the name of the shade printed on the same. It says sweet plum but the shade is nowhere close to plum. Also the colour of the sticker is way different from the actual lipistick colour Overall the packaging could be improved as in it is difficult to remember the shade and the number but at the price which I got I think I have no reason whatsoever to complain.
My take on Boots No 7 Mineral Lip 20 Sweet Plum Lipistick:
Colour: I will start with the shade first. It is a peachy red shade with a slight sheen to it. I quite like the colour and I think it would look good on the Indian skin tone.
Staying Power: Here the lipistick has a week spot because it stays only for one and a half to two hours maximum. It cant survive meals and fades unevenly after having meals which I don’t like. If you don’t mind touch up’s then may be it should work just fine for you.
Formula: It is a creamy and soft lipistick which glides smoothly on the lips, does not settle into fine lines but yes does bleed a bit so I will suggest you to use a lip liner. Since it is creamy and soft it tends to get transferred easily. One stroke will not show the proper shade , you can build it up in 2-3 swipes and it will not look cakey at all.
Fragrance: There is no fragrance in the lipistick which is a big relief. I don’t like lipisticks to smell floral or fruity, musky or woody and not even pleasant. I detest fragrance in the lipisticks.
Overall Verdict: It is an average lipistick from Boots. At the price which I got it from Bangkok, I would not even have got a super reasonable Elle18 lipistick in India. No doubt, it is lacking on a few practical aspects but I think for the shade and formula it can be tried once.
Summarisng the pros and cons,
Pros of Boots No 7 Mineral Lip 20 Sweet Plum Lipistick:
1. Reasonably priced.
2. Soft and creamy formula.
3. No fragrance.
4. Does not settle into fine lines.

Cons of Boots No 7 Mineral Lip 20 Sweet Plum Lipistick:
1. Packaging needs to be improved.
2. Bleeds a bit but nothing which a lip liner cant manage.
3. Staying power is poor.
4. Transfers easily owing to the soft creamy formula.
Will I repurchase/ Do I recommend Boots No 7 Mineral Lip 20 Sweet Plum Lipistick?
I may not repurchase the same shade again. As far as recommendation goes, I think you can give it a try.
