It has been SUPER long since I last wrote a review here and I apologize for that – my computer crashed and this meant that I struggled to write reviews and I really missed it! However, it’s fine now and I am here writing a review for you all! I decided that I would start off things on a high note and review my favourite cleanser ever – in fact I have just purchased my second bottle because I really like it.
The cleanser is the No7 Hot cloth cleanser, in the “beautiful” skin care range, and let me just say that I love this cleanser a lot more than my Una Brennan Rose Cleanser. Don’t get me wrong, I also love and highly-rated Una Brennan cleanser, but this cleanser works absolute wonders on my skin. I first discovered this hot cloth cleanser last Christmas, when it came in a travel size along with other travel size No7 skin care products. I decided to try it out thinking that even if I didn’t like it, it wouldn’t be too much of a waste since the product was pretty small. However, I was completely impressed after trying it and after the travel size ran out, I went and bought the full size. I decided to take a break after it got finished and tried the Una Brennan cleanser that was really good, but I missed the No7 cleanser a great deal, so I went out last week and purchased it again! So without any more rambling, let me jump into the review!
£9.99 (200 ml).
My Take on Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser:
As you would have already guessed from my mini rave above, I absolutely love this product! I love everything about it, from the packaging, to the amount of product that comes in the bottle and most importantly, the way it greatly benefits my skin! Let me first talk about the packaging. The product comes in a tall, clear, plastic bottle with a pump dispenser, making it easy and neat to disperse out the product. The amount of product that you get is a generous 200 ml and I have found that this product lasts me ages! The last time I purchased the product, it lasted a good 4-5 months and that is because not much product is needed for the face. I like to take about 3 pumps of the product and that is enough for my whole face.
As for the consistency of the product, it is very thick and creamy and I love that, if you are not a huge fan of rich cleansers and are more inclined to go for light cleansers such as a gel or balm, this might not be for you, but in my case, I much rather prefer a rich, creamy cleanser!
As the name suggests, it is a hot cloth cleanser, so the product actually comes with a muslin cloth. However, in my opinion, the muslin cloth is too thin and rough for my skin, so I use facial towels. I have also found that with muslin cloths, once you soak it in hot water and lay it over your face, the cloth does not actually retain the heat very well, so it becomes cold very quickly. On the other hand, since facial towels are a lot thicker and softer, they retain the heat for a much longer period of time and it feels so calming to have a nice hot towel on your face!
I then use the towel to wipe the product off my face and this motion also gently exfoliates my skin, leaving it soft. As for how this product benefits my skin, I think it really does help my skin. My skin is sensitive and prone to breakouts. Recently, I have been experiencing breakouts on my cheek and I also have very bad hyperpigmentation in that area. I have that skin type where if I get a spot, it leaves a mark once it has gone and it is super annoying. This was also why I wanted to get this cleanser again because it helped me so much last time with my skin issues.
This cleanser does not aggravate my skin and it does not leave it feeling dry and stripped. In fact, it leaves my skin feeling quite fresh and it does a great job of removing makeup, etc.
As well as this, the product does not have an overbearing, strong fragrance that is great for sensitive skin, the smell is very light and fresh. This product does what it has been designed to do and that is to cleanse the skin, I don’t think it really helps with removing any dark spots or anything, it just keeps my skin very calm and so prevents any breakouts.
Pros of Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser:
- Great for sensitive skin.
- Does not strip the skin.
- Leaves it fresh.
- Large amount of product in bottle.
- Minimal fragrance.
- Relatively inexpensive.
Cons of Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser:
I have not found anything wrong with this product, I guess one setback is the muslin cloth it comes with but that problem is easily solved, just use a facial towel instead!
Would I Repurchase Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser?
So overall, I must say that this product is definitely a winner and ticks all the boxes for me. I would definitely recommend that you try this product. I am also now interested in the other products in the No7 beautiful skin care range and so if I decide to try them out, I will let you know!
Until then, thank you for reading my review and I’ll be back soon with another one!
