I’m back with anther review for you all and this time it will be on an eyeliner. I feel that everyone has a staple makeup product and for me, that is eyeliner. I love trying out eyeliners and I have to say that my favourite type is definitely liquid eyeliner. I got this No. 7 eyeliner as part of a set and couldn’t wait to try it out. If you would like to know my thoughts about this product, please keep reading!
Long lasting liner perfect for graphic detailing with a weightless comfortable finish in carbon black for extreme colour.
My Take on Boots No7 Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner:
I’ll just start off by saying that I didn’t like this eyeliner, which is unfortunate because I was looking forward to using it.
Firstly, the color payoff of this eyeliner is very poor. The product claims to have a “finish in carbon black for extreme color,” but I actually think this applies on patchy and the color is nowhere near “carbon” black, the color is more light in tone. As you can see by the swatch on my hand, the colour is uneven. Therefore, I have to build up the color by lining over my eyes several times, until the color is darker. Since you need to keep reapplying the liner over to build up the color, it’s difficult to achieve a smooth and consistent line over the lids. I have found that my eyeliner can look quite irregular at times. I also find it difficult to apply on my eyelids without tugging or pressing down hard, because there is hardly any color that comes out.
The shape of the felt tip liner is better for thicker eyeliner looks; since the felt tip isn’t very thin, it is more difficult to achieve thinner, more precise eyeliner looks. Therefore the claim that this liner is “perfect for graphic detailing” is something that I disagree with. This eyeliner isn’t super cheap either, it’s in the mid price point range, so I would have expected something better in quality.
As for its longevity, I’ve found that it does last on my lids well for a few hours so that’s probably one good thing about this liner. I also like the packaging, it is light but sturdy and the lid also clips into place well. I’ve heard that with some felt tip eyeliners, the lid doesn’t always clip into place properly and this can cause the eyeliner to dry out quickly.
Pros of Boots No7 Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner:
- Quite long lasting.
- Good packaging.
Cons of Boots No7 Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner:
- Poor color payoff.
- Difficult to apply on lids.
- Quite expensive.
- Does not give a smooth and consistent finish
Would I Repurchase Boots No7 Stay Precise Felt Tip Eyeliner?
I’m disappointed with this liner and I would definitely not recommend anyone to buy it. I haven’t really had much to write about this product because I just don’t know what else to say about it. The color pay off is bad, I found it hard to apply and it’s also not that cheap, so I would suggest you spend your hard earned money elsewhere! Also, since the eyeliner does not give consistent or smooth output, it is difficult to achieve a variety of different looks with it. On the other hand, I found that the Maybelline Master Precise was brilliant at achieving different looks because it has such a thin felt pen and the colour pay off is brilliant. I would definitely recommend you to try out that eyeliner instead!
It’s a shame that this review had to be so negative because I normally love No7 products, but hopefully the next review will be more positive!
