My Experience with Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Refreshing Jelly Facial Wash:

I have been looking for an effective cleanser for my acne-prone skin for a long time. After having tried a variety of natural cleansers and other gel-based cleansers, I was recommended this one by Boots. I have always been a little wary of drugstore brand cleansers because I feel like they’re loaded with chemicals and can be quite drying on the skin (I have combination skin, which is prone to dryness). But because, I was in desperate need of a cleanser that could control the breakouts on my face, I went ahead and tried this out anyway.

I have been using this face wash almost everyday for the last three weeks now. I use this once a day, typically at night, after I have removed my makeup, to give my skin a thorough cleanse. This is a jelly-like cleanser, light pink in colour and has a mild floral fragrance to it. I think it does a good job of removing the residual makeup from my face and leaving it clean. It lathers up just enough, but not too much, which I like. I find that it also tightens the pores. The tea tree and witch hazel extracts in this help ease the breakout situation, especially if there is a lot of redness and inflammation on the skin.

The downside, though, is that it is drying and it is loaded with chemicals (including SLS and parabens). If you do have oily skin, then this will also help control shine.

I’m not sure if I’ll use it in the long run, but if you have a bad breakout situation and oily to combination skin (but not dry skin), then I would recommend that you try this out to see if it works for you.

Pros of Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Refreshing Jelly Facial Wash:

  • Cleanses the face thoroughly.
  • Removes residual makeup.
  • Tightens pores.
  • Controls redness, inflammation and breakouts.
  • Lathers just enough.
  • Has a mild floral fragrance.
  • Good value for money.

Cons of Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Refreshing Jelly Facial Wash:

  • Contains lots of chemicals.
  • Can be drying on the skin.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Refreshing Jelly Facial Wash?
If I don’t find another cleanser that helps control my acne situation, then I am likely to repurchase this one.
