My Experience with Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Scrub:

Exfoliation is very important in maintaining skin’s health. It really makes the skin look supple, even, and glowing. Facial scrubs have been a part of my daily skincare regime since my teenage years. The brands might have changed, but the exfoliation step was never skipped.

Packaging: The scrub comes in a huge, grey, opaque and matt looking squeeze tube. All details are on the front and back of the tube. The flip cap closes tightly, so there’s no product spillage. But the tube is very big and occupies space, so not very travel friendly.

Consistency: The scrub is thick in consistency and dark grey in color. The color might look gross or ugly. The beads in it are small, smooth and not harsh or abrasive. I never like very big and rough beads in the scrub. It spreads easily on wet face.

Effectiveness: I have combination skin with an oily t-zone. I am using this scrub since last 2 months. After scrubbing my face with it, my skin instantly feels smooth, soft and radiant. My pores appear smaller. It controls the oil on my t-zone very well. It doesn’t dry out my face, as some charcoal-containing products do and my face feels moisturized. I can’t comment on how it works for dry-skinned ladies.
After using this regularly twice a week for two months, I can say that my pores especially on the nose and on the cheeks appear smaller. My blackheads are totally gone, which makes me very happy. My skin is very smooth and I haven’t got any break-outs. Dry patches near the corners of my nose are gone. I find that my base makeup sits on my face very nicely.

Fragrance: It has a mix of refreshing minty and tea tree oil fragrance, which lasts for few minutes after washing off the scrub; it might be a little overpowering for sensitive noses.
