Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser Review

Hi Beautifuls,

How are you doing gals? I am still recovering from fever and post-Diwali fatigue 😛 However, all these minor things cannot stop me from visiting my beloved IMBB and getting in touch with all of you lovely people.  As winters stepped in and my skin started behaving nicely, I took an opportunity to change my skin care regimen and laid my hands on a few decent products which were always on my dream wishlist but my oily skin deterred me from getting them.  Now that, I am temporarily free from zits and other issues, I finally replaced my TBS skin care cleanser with Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser a few months ago.  Boscia was always in my hit list ever since I used its black nose strips and its mini cleanser trial pack. I would not say it is my HG cleanser (it would be too early to say so :P), but I am pretty happy and impressed by it at the same time and would like to stick to it till summers arrive. Please read on further to know more about Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser.

What it is formulated to do?

This Black Cleanser heats up on contact with skin to effectively open and de-clog pores. Its gel texture transforms into a gentle and effective lather to dissolve oil and makeup, rinsing away pore-clogging surface debris, impurities, and excess oil. It refines skin texture, brightens skin clarity, and minimizes the look of pores over time.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:

  • Parabens.
  • Sulfates.
  • Phthalates.

Packaging:

This warming black cleanser comes in a sturdy black pump dispenser packaging with a small locking clip on the dispenser, to check accidental leakage when not in use. I really liked the idea of locking clip at the neck of the pump dispenser package which helps in avoiding extra leakage and/or accidental spills, which is a very common issue while using such packaging. Hence it is travel friendly and “child safe” in true sense.

My Experience with Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser:

Well, I always wanted to pamper my skin which is all set to show the first signs of ageing any time! After using IMBB sponsored Caudalie goodies, I seriously made up mind to invest in a few but quality skin care products and I am happy I took the right decision, though a bit late.  Once touching 28-30s, we should become extra cautious and gentle for our skin and body I feel.  Earlier I used many harsh acne treatments and products which solved those issues, but I ignored the fact that they made my skin rough and dry in the long run. Thankfully, now I am free from all zits and acne, hence I took this golden opportunity to pamper my skin and nourish it properly to keep it soft and glowing.

I have heard a lot about charcoal infused cleansers and masks which detoxify gently and keep the skin clear and free from all zits and blackheads.  Since this Boscia cleanser is infused with goodness of charcoal, artichoke leaf extract., etc and formulated without phthalates, sulphates and parabens; it was a must-try for me.  I am happy that I picked this up despite its heavy price tag.  At first, I was a bit worried as it immediately warms up while rubbing with water between hands. I can also see black charcoal flakes, but it is very gentle and effective on skin to my surprise. I can never go wrong while rubbing it on my face as it is so soft and gentle that it never tears off or strips moisture out of my skin. It forms enough lather in 1-2 pea size drops to cover the face and neck. I am hoping this 150 ml bottle will last me for a long time as I barely managed to finish half of it while I have used it generously twice a day in these two months.

This black warming cleanser is just apt for cold and dry winters and acne-prone oily skin.  I love the fact that it never rips off the skin beneath acne or zits unlike other acne cleansers. It did smooth and even tone my skin texture in a few weeks and after using it for 1-2 months, I can say that it has been my best find so far in spite of the price.  It keeps my face shine free for 7-8 hours along with keeping my skin hydrated and toned at the same time.  I have been skipping the toner since I started using this cleanser as toners are a bit harsh on my skin and anyway this cleanser and my Caudalie lotion serve the purpose of hydrating and toning my skin at one go.  I also notice that it does clear those nasty blackheads on my nose slowly but effectively and now my face looks much clear, smooth, soft and shine-free than ever before. There is seriously nothing which I did not like about it except the price. I am really impressed by this cleanser and would like to repurchase it again till my pocket allows 😛 It is suitable for any skin type I feel, hence I would recommend this gentle yet effective cleanser to all of you.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser:

  • A warming gel cleanser infused with the goodness of artichoke leaf extract, glycolic acid, charcoal and vitamin C.
  • It does its job of cleansing and smoothing skin effectively.
  • It does not dry or rip off moisture from the skin while clearing zits and blackheads.
  • Keeps my skin shine-free for 7-8 hours, though it does not claim to do so.
  • Minimizes pores for a few hours without causing overt dryness or rough skin.
  • An apt product for all skin types in winters.
  • It comes with locking clip on dispenser packaging which makes it travel friendly and avoids accidental leakage.
  • A little drop goes a long way.

Cons of Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser:

  • The only con is the price.

Well, I do not have any issue with this warming black cleanser except it’s price. However, the amount of cleanser is fair and a little drop goes a long way, so I am pretty sure this bottle will last me at least for 6 months.  It impressed me over drugstore brands hence for me it is worth every penny and I have decided to continue with it till my pocket allows especially for winters. I would highly recommend this cleanser to all of you.  It really pampers our delicate sensitive skin making it softer, glowing and even toned with each passing day! Hope this helps 🙂

    1. *thankyou* mini. I guess it wud be suitable for acne prone skin as it has glycolic acid, vitamin c, but it won’t heal or treat acne specifically, u knw wt i mean. however it does removes blackheads n white heads slowly slowly, and it will heal ur rough and sore skin very well.. *haan ji*
