Boscia Luminizing Black Mask Review

Hello gals!

Hope all of you are doing fine. I am back to share another skincare product with you all which is getting my love these days since it’s summers around plus my oily – sensitive skin. We know peel off mask technique is not new in the beauty market, but I usually stay away from peeling strips which might cause broken capillaries as per research studies. But, I totally love homemade peel off egg mask and other store bought peel off masks which give instant results. To start with, I have oily skin with prominent pores that often develop white/blackheads especially in summers. My anti-ageing skin concern often takes a back seat as I am more conscious about these clogged pores. For someone like me who prefers minimal or no makeup, it becomes a nightmare to develop these nasty clogged pores.

Boscia Luminizing Black Mask Review6

Thanks to this new Boscia Black Mask that helps to get rid of my issues topically while it cannot guarantee a lifetime relief from these zits. Let me clear it first that this mask is only meant for problematic skin preferably oily, combination skin. And, I deny all the facts claiming 100% results unless we give our efforts (eating right and healthy). After all, using this mask once or twice a week won’t make any significant difference unless we develop a healthy lifestyle. So, let’s read on more about it!

Product Description:
An innovative peel-off mask that helps boost skin clarity and minimize the appearance of pores. Removes dirt and impurities, absorbs excess oil and reveals a healthy, glowing complexion.

“Peel to reveal pore-perfected skin with the trendsetting Black Mask!”

My Experience with Boscia Luminizing Black Mask:

The luminizing mask comes in an opaque, plastic, black tube packaging with a safety cap. It has a faint smell which is fine to me. I find it pretty user friendly & travel friendly overall. Now, comparing it to Boscia Pore Purifying Black Strips, I see that strips work like adhesive on skin and might help with pores. But, this mask sinks into our pores and dries up while we get moisturizing benefits from its mineral enriched formula and it is more effective than nose strips. Not to forget, I experience lot of itching on my skin whenever I use nose strips while this mask feels quite cooling and refreshing.

And, as I told earlier I tried it for my clogged pores and oily skin both which make an ideal match for this mask. The luminizing mask seems thick yet easily spreadable on our skin which dries up fast within 25-30 minutes to give a luminizing layer or a peel off mask. I don’t find it drying or tight even after it dries up on my skin and I have never felt any itching or irritation while layering it on as well. The trick is to apply it generously on problematic areas and not on the whole face to fetch maximum benefits. Like, I find my T- zone (certain areas not whole zone though) and cheek area more problematic than the area around my eyes, forehead and lips. So, I layer it in patches on my nose targeting my cheeks, then as a smaller patch around chin without layering it like a face pack on skin, only to land into mess.

And yes, I find it really effective for my nose which gets clogged pores and my chin which is the first soft target of black/white heads on my face apart from cheeks. It easily peels off in patches or even as a whole mask though I prefer peeling it off in patches. And, it doesn’t hurt like waxing or those nose strips, luckily! I find mild peeling sensation which is comparatively less than my homemade egg white mask, to be honest. And, you can actually see remnants of dirt, material in clogged pores, black/white heads on the peel strip that certainly make you believe that it works quite deeply. I can also see clear, refined pores post washing my face and I don’t feel stretchy or dry skin post usage.

In fact, I find my skin to be more radiant and clear. But, I always use this mask after a steam session which I pretty much advice. Firstly, because steaming helps to open your pores up naturally and in turn expose that nasty pore clogging material as an easy target. Secondly, it really helps in preventing those permanent pores. A good steaming session followed by this peel off mask means more clear, radiant and problem free skin with each usage.

Even I noticed that using it alone over clean, dry skin was not as effective as using it after a steam session on my soft, open pores which didn’t leave any scar or open pores on my skin, thankfully. I do find my skin less oily and more refreshed, but no such reduction in fine lines and/or existing acne scars. However, I am hopeful it might lighten them with long term usage as I notice clearer skin with every usage. Considering my target areas, I still find my egg mask more natural and healthy, but it is a messy task and needs more time & patience.

I definitely recommend this mask to problematic skin, preferably oily skin. It is not meant for dry skin. I might get it again though I am more inclined towards new launches.

Let’s sum pros and cons:

Pros of Boscia Luminizing Black Mask:

• A mineral clay enriched luminizing mask formulated without parabens, phthalates & sulfates
• It has thick yet easily spreadable consistency to work on our clean, dry skin
• It dries up quickly within 25-30 minutes without making skin feel stretchy
• Does not make my skin itchy or irritated
• Does not cause any dryness or itching even after I peel the mask off
• It does help with clogged pores and black/white heads up to good extent provided we use it post steaming our face
• Gives more clear, refined skin with every usage
• Quite user friendly & travel friendly

Cons of Boscia Luminizing Black Mask:

• It may seem like any usual pore clearing treatment if we are not aware of the trick of using such treatments
• It is not meant for dry, sensitive, problematic skin
• The ingredients such as poly vinyl alcohol, acrylate copolymer do irk me out at times
• I didn’t notice any anti-ageing benefit as per its claims

Well honestly, I take this peel off mask as a target treatment and not an overall face mask. If using it as per the trick, you will definitely like it; otherwise it is just another ordinary beauty product I wish it had some good ingredients, and not those co-polymers etc as they really bother me. Hence, I use it once a week. If you need an effective relief from clogged pores, then try it once.
