Boscia Oil Free Daily Hydration SPF 15 Review

Hi Beautifuls,

boscia oil free daily hydration

A very happy and colorful Holi to all of you once again! So, how was your day and Holi? We played with colors and gulaal a day before the actual Holi (on sunday) and now my skin is craving for moisture and mercy 😛 It was a thoughtful gesture on part of our Indian community to plan a Holi Milan (get together) with family in the weekend and we totally grabbed this opportunity to get in touch with our fellow Indians and to make new friends. We had no idea about what was going inside the holi pandaal and we all were dressed in our best possible new light and white clothes. Post celebration, our new white clothes were all soaked and colored in gulaal, not to forget our face which was painted with gulaal! And my hubby was waiting for this moment it seems, as I lost count of how many times he himself painted gulaal on my face and hair. The best part was that Aadya refused to leave me and she was continuously punching, kicking all bad guys…. haha!! It was really so sweet and funny, she is still angry with her daddy and our friends. Anyway, let me get back to today’s review which is dedicated to oily skin care regimen. After my average experience with Shiseido moisturizer, I came across this Boscia Oil Free Daily Hydration SPF 15 which is another disappointment for me! Please read on further to know more about same.

Packaging:

This light peachy white moisturizer comes in a white opaque tube packaging with pump dispenser opening and safety cap. I liked this innovative concept of pump dispenser with tube as it saves my time and relieves my fingers. It has slight fruity smell which stays for half an hour post application on face. Overall, a perfect pick for travel, day time use.

My Experience with Boscia Oil Free Daily Hydration SPF 15:

I am really surprised to see how my skin seems so dry and dehydrated nowadays. Summers are approaching hence I am also working on my diet and frequent water intake, but I also need a decent hydrating moisturizer which can take care of my dry/dehydrated skin which is also supposed to be oily and sensitive. After thorough research, I picked this Boscia daily hydration with spf 15 and I was hopeful that it will take care of all my concerns from open pores, dryness around cheek/lip area to sun block, but unfortunately, it just gives me sun protection and failed in all other concerns.

Moreover, my prime concern was to nourish and moisturize my skin apart from treating dry and rough areas, but I am shocked to notice it accentuates my issues rather than treating them! The irony is, its texture is so light and fluffy, I need one or two pumps to cover my face, but sometimes it does not assimilate in my skin, especially around dry areas. I can see light peachy streaks post application which looks weird on my skin and I need to wipe them off as they are not blendable. It gives me oil free and clean skin for 3-4 hours (that is if it gets absorbed by chance) and thereafter I can notice teeny oil bumps oozing out of my t zone covering my cheeks and face within an hour which is good, not impressive though.

It does not treat my dry cheeks other than making them greasy after 3-4 hours. I just feel my skin lacks lustre, smoothness, hydration even after using this Boscia moisturizer for more than a month! I am not sure if it would help me with sun protection in scorching summers as SPF 15 seems insufficient for this dry sunshine honestly. I felt slightly itchy/bumpy skin after using it and recently post holi, when my skin was literally inflamed, this moisturizer gave me teeny zits all over my T-zone and cheeks, hence I completely stopped using it on my skin. However, I have always observed that sunscreen products are more or less disaster on my skin except for a few makeup products.

Whatever may be the reason, I am slightly sad as all my skin care discoveries are giving me hard luck this year, I could not find a single decent skin care regime for my oily and sensitive skin till date. I would not recommend this moisturizer to dry skin gals as it does nothing for my dry skin areas on the face. It might help combination skin gals or very oily skin gals in summers though.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Boscia Oil Free Daily Hydration SPF 15:

  • An oil free moisturizer with spf 15 sun protection apt for summers.
  • It is formulated without Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dye, Petro-Chemicals and Phthalates.
  • It keeps oil at bay for good 3-4 hours.
  • It might help very oily skin and combination skin in summers.
  • Tempting list of ingredients.
  • It claims to suit every skin tone.

Cons of Boscia Oil Free Daily Hydration SPF 15:

  • It does not treat dry or patchy skin, it might accentuate them.
  • Sometimes I feel it does not assimilate on my skin hence it may not treat my skin issues completely.
  • It gave me zits and itchy skin post holi.
  • I don’t know why it takes so much time and effort to get absorbed into my skin and leaves streaks which looks very odd during day time.
  • I cannot rely on its sun protection factor as it does not get absorbed into my skin and the SPF 15 is insufficient for future upcoming scorching summers and dry hot wind.
  • I doubt if it would help dry, oily and acne-prone skin considering it’s a failure on my oily/dry skin patches.
  • It seems so pricey for a product that doesn’t work on skin issues.

Overall, I can only suggest you to try a sample first and then proceed to purchase a full size. I am seriously pissed off with my shopping results.  I wish I could get a single decent moisturizer for my skin irrespective of the price. Do you have any suggestions gals? As per my experience, this Boscia moisturizer is big nay especially for oily and acne prone and dry skin gals. On a different note, adding Holi event pictures to make a happy ending :))
