Hello pretty ladies,

Hubby and I were overdue for a holiday and we decided to head to Goa (again!).  Goa is one of those places you go to when you want a quick, fun and cheery holiday. All my life, I have always lived near more beautiful beaches than the ones Goa has to offer, but Goa’s charm is something else. I guess it’s the happy atmosphere, the bindaas attitude and the night-time lights on the beach, and I always love the colours. I mean colours with a capital “C”. Colourful outfits, pink nails, red lips, yellow flip flops, very nice.  But I was looking for a brown eyeliner to wear in Goa. I feel n*ked without my eyeliner 🙁 and black liner seemed too much for sunny Goa.  So, I decided to get a waterproof brown eyeliner.  That’s how I got the Bourjois Paris Waterproof Contour Clubbing Eyeliner in Crazy About Brown. Its quite a mouthful isn’t it?Let’s see how it fared.

Packaging:

It comes as a wooden pencil with a plastic cap that closes tight. So, no worries about carrying it around in your bag. The colour of the pencil is the same as that of the shade down to the shimmer in it. The print on it is in a snazzy shiny blue, so it does stand out among your other pencils so that you can reach out for it easily.

Colour:

The colour is a chocolate brown with minute golden shimmers, mmm….lovely.

Texture:

The pencil has a nice creamy texture, so when I swatched it on my wrist, I got a good pigmentation on the first swipe itself.

My Take on Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Eyeliner – Crazy About Brown:

When the SA swatched this pencil on my hand, I was sold. I mean who wouldn’t? Just look at that colour.  So even though I had qualms about the price, I took one home and tried it instantly. First I tried it on my upper lash line- swipe one, look in the mirror – nope. Swipe once more and look again – still no. You see the problem was my lid color. The colour didn’t stand out on my eyes.  So, I tried it out as an eyeshadow and swiped it all over my eyelid and the result was beautiful. The pigmentation was good, the shimmer was not over the top, and it made a perfect eyeshadow for day or night. I then tried it on my lower lash line and I had a nice, simple smoky look for the day after a bit of mascara and black liner on the upper lash line.

Having a creamy texture makes it easy to apply on the lids, no tugging, no pressing needed. In fact, its so creamy, that I always end up getting it on my upper eyelashes.  I guess you can have shimmery golden lashes if you like.

It is long lasting and waterproof as I had it on all day while roaming around in Goa’s sun, sweating like crazy and I still had it on, but the shimmer tends to glide down below the lower lash line slightly after a while. This is maybe because of my oily lid but that’s not a problem for me.

On my wrist, I could rub it off when I put a lot of pressure, but we don’t do that to our eyes right, so it definitely needs a makeup remover.

While sharpening this pencil, you do have to be gentle, the bullet can break easily because it’s so soft.  So, all in all, this eyeliner from Bourjois stands true on all its claims – its waterproof, long lasting and you can do a quickie smoky eye with it. I lurvvvve it!!

• Doesn’t cause any irritation to the eyes.
• Travel friendly.
• Can be used for day or night.
• I can do a simple smoky eye with this pencil, a black eyeliner and a mascara.

Cons of Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Eyeliner – Crazy About Brown:

• The price.
• Due to its creamy texture, we have to sharpen this for every use, so there is product wastage, but anyway we got to sharpen pencils for every use to maintain hygiene, so I guess its okay.
• Can stain eyelashes if not careful while applying.
• Won’t show up on dark lids.
