I am definitely an eye makeup lover and of course I have an eternal love for blue and the various shades of blue. I picked this one randomly during my holidays when I did not know what to do sitting at home at my native place, where there are no big malls to roam around. My mind was so blank that I could not think about something useful, but just surf through the online beauty stores. Girls love shopping and I am no exception, and I ended up buying a few goodies from Bourjios Paris.

Let me take you through my experiences with Bourjois Smoky Eye Pencil – Blue Wave:

My Take on Bourjois Effet Smokey Pencil – Blue Wave:

The shade “Blue Wave” is bluish grey.  The pencil is dual sided. One end is the pencil tip and the other end is a smugger to create the smokey look. Both the ends are covered with a transparent cap.

The pencil is super smooth and glides easily on the lids. There is no need to tug it along and the color is intensely rich. The shade is matte with no glitters or shimmers, perfect for an everyday wear and it blends and smudges quite easily and the inbuilt smudger is of good quality.

I applied it on my eyelids and smudged it a little with the smudger.  It did not give a really heavy smokey look, but sort of   a smokey eye.  I don’t know how to explain:| Somehow I liked it, but not to the core.

I did not try it on my waterline, so no comments about it.  Now, speaking about the color pigmentation, it is good and the color comes out deep and rich, in a single stroke.

Coming to the staying power, it does not stay on the lids even for 2 hours. It starts fading slowly and you may have to touch up then and there. I will rate the staying power as average.

What I Like about Bourjois Effet Smokey Pencil – Blue Wave:

• Smooth in texture and glides easily.
• Good color pigmentation.
• Blends and smudges easily.
• Perfect for everyday wear, does not impart an heavy look.
• Cute little smugger.

• Staying power, barely stays on eyes for 2 hours.
• Slightly heavily priced.

Will I Repurchase Bourjois Effet Smokey Pencil – Blue Wave?

I don’t think I would.

Final Verdict:

This eye pencil is neither good nor a bad product, stands average. Though I was happy about the smooth texture, color, pigmentation and the ease with which it blends/smudges, the staying power put me off and makes me rate this as an average pencil. I would not say this is a “must have” eyeliner pencil. You may skip it.
