Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder Review

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder Review

Love Bourjois products like me? Then, you have all the reasons to be happy as the brand has launched quite a lot of products in India now.  I am reviewing here today the pressed powder/compact I purchased.

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder Review

Product Description:

Give your skin a boost of radiance and even out that skin tone!  Enriched with exotic fruit therapy to restore and rebalance the skin:

  • Yuzu – Anti-shine.
  • Sharon fruit – hydration.

Unifying Compact

Its ultra-fine texture is easy to blend and its feather-light feel will make application easy!  Its slim compact casing and large mirror inside is an ideal handbag essential and perfect for touch-ups on the go!

Available in 4 natural shades suitable for all skin tones and it’s good for my skin:
• Hypoallergenic formula.
• Non comedogenic.
• Dermatologically tested.

Unifying Compact

Shades Available:

• 52 Vanille
• 53 Beige clair
• 55 Beige fonce’
• 56 Hale Clair

I got the shade 52 vanilla in it, as I use the same shade in the Bourjois Health mix foundation.

Unifying Compact

Price:

INR 575 for 9 gms.

Unifying Compact

Packaging:

Unifying Compact

The compact comes in a sturdy, round, cute, red colored plastic casing which is very sleek. The packaging may not seem very classy, but it is undoubtedly pretty and attractive. I like the red colour and all the fruit pictures on its front 😀

It comes with a built-in vanity mirror but unfortunately no sponge or puff 🙁  I prefer to keep compacts for touch ups during the day in my bag, so with this, I have to keep/carry a mini kabuki along.  Anyway, nothing really bad, even MAC’s MSF has no mirror or puff in it 😛

My Experience with Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder:

I am a big fan of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and when I saw the latest launch “Healthy Balance Compact”  and claims like 10-hour matte, I couldn’t skip buying it. Also, I prefer powder/mineral makeup for summers over liquid/creamy formulas.

The pressed powder has really soft texture which blends quickly/easily into my skin.  It is very lightweight on the skin and does not get cakey. I like the fact that it gives a natural, matte finish without making my skin look flat, lifeless or dull like other mattifying powders. There is no shimmer or glitter in this powder.

It has this; mild, sweet, fruity fragrance which I like and nothing that bothers me.

Since there is no puff or sponge provided with this, you can either use a brush or puff to apply/blend this. I used to apply compacts/powder makeup with brushes till some time back, but after see a video by Goss Makeup artist, I switched to puffs.

The thing I like the most about this compact is that it controls oil/shine very well and is greatly matte. If you have oily to very oily skin, you should definitely give this a try.

On my combination skin, I need a good greasy moisturiser underneath this, otherwise my skin looks a little dry. But, I am sure this will suit me really well in summers when my skin gets a bit too oily.

I am very impressed with this pressed powder for its ability to control oil. Just yesterday, I went out during the day and wore this on. Even after returning home (after 4-5 hours), my face had no sign of shine/greasiness. Repeating, but this is definitely going to be my perfect summer partner.

About the coverage, I would say it is little more than light, so between light-medium coverage it has. If I wear it over a BB cream or a tinted moisturiser, I get almost flawless finish.

The shade 52 matches my skin tone which is NC 25 in MAC, quite well. But overall, the shade selection isn’t really great, with just 4 shades available.

Overall, I am absolutely satisfied with the product and I will definitely recommend this to matte lovers and especially to ladies with oily-very oily skin. Normal-combination skin can get this too, but you will have to wear a good moisturiser underneath this.

What I Like about Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder:

  • The powder is soft in texture.
  • Gives a nice, smooth, matte finish to the face.
  • Does not get cakey.
  • Feels light on the skin.
  • Controls oil/shine for a good amount of time.
  • Mild, fruity fragrance.
  • Does not clog pores, never broke me out either.
  • Cute and sleek packaging.
  • Gives light to medium coverage.
  • I could find a shade that matches my skin tone well.
  • Contains no shimmer particles.
  • I find it worth the price.

What I Do Not Like about Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder:

  • Just 4 shades are available.
  • Does not come with a sponge/powder puff.

      1. Very bad of ’em.. :spank: Person like me who doesnt have any single brush in her Arsenal( :chewnails: ) have to buy a brush too or use puff of an old comapct….
I can compare it with..Airlines not including meals in their Airfare.. :zombiekiller: Arre baba…itte paise lete ho..phir bhi .. Sabziwala bhi saath me dhania muft me deta hai.. :dumb:

        1. Hihihihi.. I would ask biwi to say this in the Chanel boutique- “Sabziwalk bhi saath mein dhaniya mufe mein deta hai” :worship: :worship: :worship:

        2. lol 😀 😀
          point !!!
but u see, even MAC MSF has no puff or even mirror 😛 n it is pricier than this one 😛
I think packaging issues rarely deter ppl from buying a product if they know how good the actual product is, right? :victory2: :victory2:

          1. Sanjeevjee & Nupur….Though here I have to pay quite an amount separately for Dhania..but phir bhi Dil hai Hindustaani..

Ab MAC galti kare to uski galti ka bhi dupe hoga kya.. :methinks:

For Minimal-istas like me..who dun like much tam-jham to carry with her…Maybeline compact wuld be the best choice it seems…

            1. you get dhaniya free with sabzi…… :waaa: :waaa: :waaa: we have to buy it….though mooze dhaniya pasand nahin :smug: :smug:

              1. Jomol & Nupur…Here I dun get ..but in Ahmedabad we get Dhania + Green Chilli + Adrak free with sizeable purchase of sabzis..& I to lurveeeee Dhania..here its so very xpensive but even then me gotta buy it.. :haanji:

& True Nupur…As they (pata nahi kaun) say..”Love is Blind”..when in love we tend to overlook flaws of our loved ones..*Ye Compact me se Philosophy nikal rahi hai..Seems time to hit the sack for me  *

    1. sukanyaaa 😛
MAC MSF= 1800 bucks, no puff, no mirror 😛
its not right to justify the price by thinking k puff nhi hai 😛 😛

  7. My skin is combination type too but leaning towards dry.. Don’t think this will suit me but I like bourjois products.. it would be much better if it has puff attached… :))
