BOURJOIS KHOL & CONTOUR EYE PENCIL 82 BLEU GRAPHIQUE REVIEW

What we never get tired of? Of course it is nothing but a blue eye pencil. It holds true at least for me. This time it is going to be beautiful eye pencil from Bourjois. I don’t know how many of have noticed this. Bourjois has spelled ‘Kohl’ as ‘Khol’. May be that is how it is spelt in French. Well, that has no link with this review. I was just little curious. Let’s jump into the review now.

Product Claims:

•  Intense color up to 16 hours!
•  Enriched with pure pigments, this kohl allows for an intense result from the very first stroke and lasts up to 16 hours.
•  It is soft and blend able formula is ideal to apply both on the inner and outer rims of the eye.
•  Hypoallergenic, with natural wax and vitamin E, it is gentle on the delicate eye contour area.

Price: Rs 260

Packaging: The entire pencil right from the lid to tip is in the pencil shade color. It helps us to locate the pencil quite easily. It is travel friendly. It is a wooden pencil and requires sharpening.

Color: I own the shade Bleu Graphique which is numbered 82. Bleu graphique means graphic blue in french. Little curious again! It is lovely navy blue with no shimmers. It gives a matte finish making it ideal for everyday use. I am hooked to this shade since the day I got it. It is wonderful shade for anytime anywhere usage.

Texture: The texture is creamy and smooth but not buttery. It is easy to use and glides on the lids without any tugging. As it is not that creamy, product wastage during sharpening is reduced. It is a kohl and contour pencil. So, it can be safely used on the waterline too. It has a very good pigmentation. It requires only one swipe on my lids but 2 to 3 swipes to show up on my waterline. It doesn’t hurt. 🙂 It is opthalmologically tested. It is safe for contact lens too.

Wearability: Its claim to have a blend-able formula is true. As the pencil is soft and creamy, it can be smudged easily. It doesn’t bleed once set. It works well for smoky eye looks. It can be used on the upper and lower lash line in addition to waterline.

Staying Power: It stays on my normal lids the whole day. Though it fades a bit after 4 to 5 hours, it stays in place till I wash it with a cleanser in the evening. Fading is really less. Only the brightness lessens a little. It can be a little less on oily lid but with an eye primer it should stay put. I also use it in air conditioner environment. It stays around 3 to 4 hours on my waterline. I am pretty impressed with it staying power. It claims 16 hours. I believe it is far-fetched. It is nowhere near that claim. It is not water proof but definitely water resistant. They didn’t claim water proof anyway.

Pros:
• Staying power is awesome. It stays the entire day on my lids.
• It is waterline safe. 4 hours on waterline is good. Isn’t it?
• Great for smoky eyes
• It gives a matte look and great for everyday use.
• Soft and creamy formula.
• Opthalmologically tested.
• It doesn’t smudge once set.
• Reasonably priced.
• Easily available.
• Good pigmentation
• Good range of color to chose from.
• Water resistant

Cons:
• Requires sharpening which leads to product wastage.
• 16 hours claim is not true.

I would totally recommend this range. I may not buy this color again as this pencil will last me long. This range is an absolute yes. I have already ordered another pencil from this range.

Swatch:

With the raise in price for the Faces eye pencil range, I think it time to try this one. I am hopeful that you won’t get disappointed.
