Hello IMBB readers!
Bourjois needs no introduction at all! It is one of the few drugstore brands which brings forth superb quality cosmetics at amazing prices. Though every brand has its hits and misses; Bourjois is no doubt the king of foundations. They churn out top-quality foundations at affordable prices and they all can be easily compared with any mid-range brand foundation, for sure. Bourjois has discontinued a few of its old foundations, but have made up that loss by launching a couple of new ones in the foundation category. Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation is one of the new launches. Let’s get right into the details.
Create a complexion so flawless, it looks airbrushed. The revolutionary formula of Bourjois’ Nude Sensation foundation smoothes fine lines and refines pores to create a perfectly even complexion. The lightweight texture creates a beautiful bare skin sensation.
£11 (I purchased it for 22.5 in Pakistan post conversion) for 18 ml.
My Take on Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation:
Let me keep no secrets here – this foundation is totally worth every penny!
Packaging: Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation comes in a round pot with a tightly closing lid, and that makes this packaging travel friendly. The glass jar carries all the necessary details and labels, but the packaging has a textured grey background which makes it difficult to read and makes the ingredient list unreadable in clicks.
Texture/Coverage/Finish: Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation has a feather light texture. It is a whipped, air-touch, smooth and mousse-like texture, which feels velvety on the skin. It if formulated in such a way that it just melts into skin and wears as a disguise of bare skin – I guess that’s the reason it has been named as “Nude Sensation.”
Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation applies so easily, it’s the best one from the ones that I have ever tried. You do not absolutely need any tool to apply this, just your fingers would do a professional job. This foundation absorbs and sets in micro seconds, facilitating easy and flawless blending. This is a crème-powder foundation. The consistency is thick and creamy yet when applied, it gives a matte yet natural finish with an effect like the foundation is already set with a setting powder.
So here, ultimately you are saving your pressed powder and no need to get pissed off with Bourjois for providing just 18 ml in the jar. The coverage is sheer yet buildable to medium with 2-3 layers applied on top of each other. Even when I build up the coverage, it doesn’t look cakey at all from any angle. On one hand, sheer coverage makes it my absolute favourite for everyday use, but in an effort to look flawless, you need to grab a concealer to hide unpleasant acne marks or scars. This foundation evens out my skin tone, so I do not need to reach out for a concealer to cover up hyperpigmentation or redness.
Texture/Coverage/Finish: The shade range is really limited. Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation is available in only 4 shades (41 Nude Clair, 42 Nude Rose, 43 Nude Dore and 44 Nude ensolliele). I am NC-25 and use shade 53 in Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation and Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation as well. I picked up the shade “42-Nude Rose,” which is a good match for my skin yet darker than the shade 53. The shade selection is tricky and you need to go 1-2 shades lighter than your regular Bourjois foundation for a good match. Also, the shades 41 and 42 tend to be neutrally undertone while 43 and 44 are purely for Asians with yellow undertones.
Staying Power: Bourjois Nude Sensation Blur Effect Foundation provides a sheer coverage, so it doesn’t blur pores or imperfections in one layer. The wearing time is 6 hours average in cold climate and 4 hours in hot and humid weather, without any primer (and setting powder, which isn’t required). It doesn’t make my face or even t-zone oily neither it is drying on skin to call for a moisturiser. I will rate it suitable for every skin type. There have been no clogged pores or break out issues with this foundation. Notably, it also has a pleasant fragrance.
