I love eye makeup more than anything in the world of beauty. I do like trying different shades of kohl, eyeliner and mascara but, I would always prefer black as I feel it’s ‘just right’ for any occasion. I have been using Rimmel Scandal eyes Eye Liner for the lower lash line since ages! However quite recently, I was checking yet another black eye pencil from other brands and I found Bourjois Paris Liner Stylo- Ultra Black amongst a range of eye liners. This time, I just wanted to buy a simple eye pencil and this was the darkest black available. I quickly purchased and here is the review.

My Experience with Bourjois Paris Liner Stylo – Ultra Black Review:
Call it an eyeliner or an eye pencil, it works well. The eyeliner is neatly packaged in a thin and slim retractable eye pencil. Now, a big thumbs up for the retractable pencil feature; so simple and painless to use. A broad and long golden ring is encircled through the centre of the eye pencil mainly to differentiate between the black and ultra black (The black eye pencil is in complete black). Another good feature is a built-in sharpener which is located at the end of the pencil. It is quite easy to handle especially during travel times.
As the texture is so soft and smooth, it is super convenient to apply on your upper and lower lash line and water line. The colour is dark, but if you want to go for bolder strokes, you can build up for the desired extra intensity. It draws on comfortably without any skin irritation. Since it is a pencil and not a (liquid) brush, it does drag on your upper lash line (especially when you have used only liquid eyeliner like me!). Nevertheless, after a few days/attempts, you would find it comfortable.
Thick stroke or a thin line, wing shape or bold streaks, this liner is quite suitable to apply. It is smudge-proof and yes, the pigmentation is fairly good. I usually apply this pencil to my lower lash line and it stays long. No complaints! As it is smoother and creamier, it doesn’t dry out. The pencil holds a fine and good quality and so, there is no feathering or spreading at all.
The brand offers many eye pencils and under the stylo liner range, it offers two more shades – black and brown. When purchasing this ultra black eye pencil, I believed that the shade would be extremely black. I am not disappointed but, I didn’t find any difference between ultra black and black. Yes, you can fabricate the concentration of the colour by splashing a couple of strokes more, but, it doesn’t seem an ‘ultra black’ shade at the first hit.
It contains carnauba and beeswax (many eyeliners do) which act as thickening agents helping the liner to stay pigmented on the skin. It really lasts long! Overall, it is definitely a good product from Bourjois. It’s smudge-proof, stays long and has a smooth texture. I am still not very convinced to use this product on my upper lash line, though!

Will I Recommend/Repurchase Bourjois Paris Liner Stylo – Ultra Black? If you are planning to buy kohl then this is a good bet. Simple to use! I don’t mind buying it again for my lower lash line. Maybe, I will buy the Black variant and try out!
