I have one pair of fake eyelashes and I always think about trying it on for a glamorous evening get-together, but I think think it will just lie in my makeup kit forever as I simply love spending time embellishing my own lashes. At least for me, eye makeup is a nice stress-free hobby which I would like to relish as it purely cheers me up. I have long lashes and my only reason to wear mascara is to boost up volume and add thickness to it. Since I had never tried any mascara from Bourjois, I picked up this one – Bourjois Ultra Black Volume Mascara, and here’s the review 🙂

I wanted black mascara especially for outings and from all the variety that was available, I picked up Volume Glamour, as it sounded safe without any extra glitz and thrill!

My Experience with Bourjois Paris Volume Glamour Ultra Black Mascara:
Okay, so like all other mascaras out there, Bourjois Volume Mascara has quite a standard packaging. The mascara comes in a robust black tube with a long wand. The product details are written on the tube and the wand has a slight bend at the top. The bristles of the roller brush are quite close to each other and they have a good curling motion too. It is clump free and thankfully the consistency is not thick as it appears to be! The mascara is in extreme black and it’s super handy to effortlessly brush on my lashes.
Just one stroke of mascara is never enough for me (I am sure it’s not enough for you too!). I usually apply two coats of mascara and the effect is pretty decent. I have one for regular wear from Max Factor and I bought this one only for the ‘glam’ factor, but does it really work like that? This mascara really works. It gives a perfect illusion of long voluminous lashes and yet it looks quite natural. It is smudge proof, not at all heavy on my eyes, and it dries out easily.
Yes, if you have some extra time for makeup (well, if you reading a mascara review, I am sure you would :P), brush your lashes with a coat of Vaseline to get that natural shine. In addition to this, you can have those wonderfully done curled eye lashes with the help of an eyelash curler. It might not hold curls for the entire day but it certainly looks pretty. The consistency is super smooth, soft and glides on easily without leaving any patches. I am not going gung-ho about the staying power of this mascara, but it is not bad – it lasts easily around 5 hours and that’s fine.
It is hassle free – no skin irritation, no heady smell and no watering of eyes. It is smudge proof and not heavy on lashes. It is not very stubborn and so you can easily remove this mascara with a simple makeup remover. It’s not a magic wand but definitely it does a good job. So, overall a sure-shot hit mascara on the shelves for you from Bourjois. Yes, if you are looking for an extra factor which would dramatically add oomph and style to your lashes to create a hot party look, this may not be for you.
