Braun Silk Epil 3 Epilator Review

Braun Epilator Silk Epil 3 Review

Hair removal is a part of every woman’s life. Every month, we have to fix a time especially for parlor. Though many women are blessed with minimal hair growth, I am clearly not one of them. My hair growth is tremendous and even waxing does not put it to rest. So, I decided to buy an epilator, a hair removing electronic device. It is available in any electronic store which keeps home appliances. There are many brands to choose from. I collected every single detail and knowledge about the epilator from the internet. I zeroed it to Philips, but the shopkeeper convinced me to go for the Braun one, as it is leading in hair removal section.

Though it was a bit expensive than the Philips one, but still it was a one-time buy. It pulls out hair of length 2-5 mm and not more than that or less than that.

My Experience with Braun Epilator:

This is my first epilator from the electronics hair removal section. I had been planning to buy an electronic hair remover for quite a while, but was not sure what epilator exactly was. I was going to buy a shaver, but it harms the skin and the hair after shaving becomes quite thick. The first time I used it, it hurt a lot. It pulls out the hair from the root and does not shave it. It has 2 speed settings, one medium and the other fast. It is better to remove the hair in the medium setting as it provides a steady speed. After epilating, the result is very satisfactory, though ingrown hairs can be seen when the hairs grow back.

If a body scrub is used during bathing, it removes the ingrown hair to a good extent. The instruction mentions it is safe to use for legs as well as underarms, though I tried it on my arms as well. It saves me a lot of time as I don’t have to run to the parlor twice every month.
The small brush is quite efficient to keep the epilator clean. It does not harm the skin. It even consumes very less power.

How To Use:

Keep the epilator at 90 degrees and move it upwards against the direction of hair growth. It does not remove all the hair at once, but repeat the process 2-3 times. Once after depilation, the hair does not come back for 2-3 weeks. Clean the epilator after depilation of hand or legs. It gives you a better result. The skin should be completely dry. Do not apply any cream before epilating– the hair tends to stick to the skin if you do so.

  1. using a philips one ….i have noticed ingrowth when used on hands so i us it only on legs .I prefer waxing anytime over epilators.

  2. i have the same one…but in purple color….but i use it rarely….because i have noticed that when you get waxing done the hair growth is slow compared to epilating…i find it very boring to use this….i prefer going to the parlour than using this…. :X :-/
