IMBB Sponsored Product Review
How are you doing today? I am really happy and slightly nervous to share today’s product. Happy because it is a gift from IMBB and slightly nervous for it worked fine for me, could not find anything unique or worth raving in this gift 😛 Please read on further to know about this Bumble and Bumble Straight Shampoo. I guess you all know B&B right?? Still I would love to give small introduction about B&B. Bumble and bumble is a line of extraordinary hair products that began at a New York salon in 1977 by hairdresser and entrepreneur Michael Gordon. Now, Bumble and bumble Products, LLC is one of 27 brand owned by Estee Laudar companies, Inc. sourced from net.

A sulfate-free cleanser that reduces frizz. This ultra-mild cleanser reduces pesky fly aways, helping to smooth and soften hair with Concen-straight Technology. It’s the ideal shampoo for taming curly, thick, unmanageable, unruly hair. The Bumble and bumble Straight Line with breakthrough Concen-straight Technology was developed to help maintain hair’s natural integrity, allowing hairdressers (and clients) to customize straightness, increase manageability, and reduce frizz. All products are free of formaldehyde, cysteine, and lye. Straight Shampoo is safe for color-treated hair. Formulated without parabens, sulfates.
This runny white shampoo comes in ordinary plastic packaging with flip top cap, I wonder it does not look high end or classy from any angle 😛 The smell is deliciously sweet and luxurious though! Overall, quite cheap, ordinary, travel-friendly packaging.
My Experience with Bumble and Bumble Straight Shampoo:
Let’s talk about my hair first, my scalp is oily while my hair is more or less dry and more prone to frizz, strange! I often suffer from dandruff in winters if I skip oiling my hair for 2-3 days. I often notice hair fall, call it a post pregnancy issue or blame heavy water impurities. Up to some extent, it is true that heavy water (tap water) does not suit my family and hence we need to use filtered or distilled water for every task excluding dish washing and laundry. We both (hubby and me) use filtered water for our hair and it has helped us in combating hair fall up to a good extent, though we still notice hair strands in our comb. I often look for mild, more or less natural (not necessary though) shampoo which can serve my purpose! I am glad that I laid my hands on the much-raved B&B stuff just because of IMBB though I won’t consider this particular B&B straight shampoo again unless I want to maintain a particular straight style on my hair.
Starting with shampoo, this runny white shampoo smells heavenly sweet and luxurious irrespective of its packaging. A tiny drop forms immense lather to cover my medium length hair and I use 3-4 parts (drops) shampoo with triple parts of water to make a dilute solution to use on my hair. I had been using it since 1.5 months, once a week (sometimes twice a week) and I can see it would last me a few more months. I am impressed that it does not rip off moisture from my scalp and hair. I did not notice any dandruff, itching or dryness so far after using this shampoo. Whether I use it after oiling my hair or without oil, it leaves my hair clean, soft, shiny and healthy.
I am also impressed to see that I do not feel any need to wash my hair before the 5th or 6th day of previous session unless I need to hang out with friends or rush for a surprise party. It does help in combating frizzy, unruly, untamed hair as well and my hair does have voluminized and bouncy effect for a few hours, though it does not last long. I have no complaints from this luxurious yet simple shampoo. Now the twist is, I had been using Garnier since 4-5 years and recently switched to Organix Argan Moroccan Cream Infusing Shampoo before trying B&B and on my basis of comparison, I felt B&B works more or less similar to my Garnier and Organix shampoos. I mean I feel my hair was dandruff free, soft, frizz free even before I tried B&B and now a few Garnier shampoos are also formulated without pthalates, sulfates, etc., which are also a hit for me, so I don’t feel an instinct to get B&B.
I even noticed slightly prominent hair fall for the first two weeks of using B&B which initially changed my views about this shampoo and I had to wait a few more weeks to test its suitability on my hair. Now, I don’t notice hair fall so often, but it is bothering any way. No doubt B&B shampoo has all good qualities, but they are not unique or luxurious to be frank. However, I believe it would work best for styled and color-treated hair as my hubby loves it. He usually colors his hair and we both were surprised to see that his hair color lasted for more than 1.5 months which is impressive. He even suffers from dandruff and this B&B shampoo treated his dry scalp too. Overall, I would recommend it to all beauties who love experimenting with styles and who are currently not happy with their shampoo and need extra care, a strong cure for their frizzy, unruly, untamed hair basically. In general, it works just like any Organix or Garnier shampoo as per my experience.
Let’s sum up the pros and cons:
Pros of Bumble and Bumble Straight Shampoo:
- A sulfate free, paraben free, lightweight shampoo.
- It forms immense lather in just 1-2 drops.
- A lightweight formula which is not harsh on hair or skin.
- It mildly cleanses scalp and hair without ripping off natural moisture and hence it helps in combating dandruff naturally though it does not claim to do so.
- Does impart healthy shine to the hair.
- Whether you oil your hair or don’t, you will not go wrong with this shampoo.
- It does give temporary voluminizing, bouncy effect which lasts for a few hours.
- Takes care of color treated hair.
- Would definitely work best on frizzy, unruly, straight hair or people who use hair straightener.
- It smells heavenly sweet and luxurious which lasts for a few minutes post shower.
Cons of Bumble and Bumble Straight Shampoo:
- Ordinary plastic packaging.
- Don’t you think we can get all the above-mentioned yays from any drugstore shampoo like Garnier Fructis, Organix, etc., at least my Garnier Fructis Pure Shampoo works great for me.
- Even if it’s formulated without parabens, sulfates, we cannot deny the fact that it is still more or less formulated with chemicals such as silicones which some people may not like.
- Way expensive for me especially when I don’t style or color my hair.
- How can I forget that it gave me severe hair fall for two weeks initially, which is really worrisome.
I must conclude that B&B is great only for those gals who want straight hair or want to maintain color treated hair apart from taming unruly, frizzy hair. Personally, I won’t expand my budget for a shampoo which is simple and comparable to any drugstore shampoo. I hope this review helped :))
