My Experience with Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Compact Foundation
I think after Tom Ford Makeup, if there is any brand that I have seen so consistent with their quality, it is Burberry. I am heads over heels in love with their makeup line. Every product so far has been good and I only want to discover more and more products from their range.
I am not someone who is a huge on powder foundations. Since I have dry skin I always prefer liquid products. I feel they add a bit of luminosity to my skin. But this powder foundation has changed so much of my opinion.
Let’s start with the packaging. It is a rather heavy square metallic grey packaging with burberry’s signature pattern embossed on it. It has two compartments. The top part encases the powder and the bottom part is for the sponge. Even though the sponge is of super quality, I would have preferred a brush. There is a lovely mirror included on the inside and the compact has a magnetic closure. There is also a velvet pouch that comes with it. Quite a nice and thoughtful packaging yet simple and effective.
The texture is the powder is suuuper soft. It is very finely milled. I’d say like a creamy powdery. It’s beautiful how amazing the quality of the powder is.
The finish satiny-matte. So it’s not like super matte, nor it’s like glowing or shiny. It’s like that perfect texture that can be used both by those with oily skin and dry skin. It adds that lovely healthy glow to the skin and makes it look flawless.
The coverage is light to medium. You can use it damp if you want a medium coverage. I mostly use it dry with a kabuki brush and really buff it in the skin. It gives the most polished look to the skin. It does not cover much but evens out the skin tone and gives a gorgeous satiny look to the skin.
The staying power is incredible. I have worn it in the hottest humid days and it has held itself well for more than 7 hours. I’d say that I felt the need to blot out my T Zone after 3-4 hours. The weather is very humid these days and this powder holds well in this crazy hot weather as well. In fact more often than not, I mostly use concealer and this luminous foundation and I call it a day.
Although there are only 4 shades available, I feel these could fit a huge range of skin tones
It does not get cakey or settle in fine lines. Does not accentuate the pores.
I loove the rosy powdery fragrance it has. Some may not like it but I totally love it!
One of the most incredible powder foundations I have used. I am totally addicted. I’d probably replace the sponge with a brush because it would be more hygienic for touch ups.
The only change if I could make would be to make the compact a little lighter.
A little tip : If you have dry skin, always use a powder foundation on top of a well moisturised skin. It would prevent any dry patches. A primer is always a good idea.
LOVE Every bit of it. Highly recommended.

Looking at the pics, I can hardly believe that I am not wearing liquid foundation. 😀
