Burberry Kisses Gloss – Military Red No. 109 Review

Off late I have realized I haven’t tried any red lip color or gloss and so I finally bought this Military Red shade from Burberry Kisses lip gloss range. I do like this candy apple red but I am not impressed by its finish and pigmentation! So let’s read more about it.

What it is:
A moisturizing, lightweight, non-sticky gloss that delivers a buildable wet shine lip look.

What it does:
This gloss glides across the lips for a fuller-looking, blossoming effect. The buildable formula creates a mirror-like shine that starts with a subtle, dewy veil of color and intensifies to a ripe wet look. Lips are hydrated and continuously kissable with zero stickiness. Kisses Gloss is available in 28 runway-inspired shades and multiple finishes from high shine to pearly and sparkling.

My Experience with Burberry Kisses Gloss – Military Red No. 109:

The gloss comes in usual transparent plastic tube packaging with signature Burberry pattern grey cap attached to doe foot sponge applicator. It does have a mild smell which is not overpowering and usually subsides in minutes. Overall, it is pretty sturdy, travel friendly packaging with an ordinary yet classy finish.

Coming to the shade Military Red No. 109, it looks a true deep red shade in tube though it comes up a way subtle candy apple red shade on my lips. I see that it gives buildable coverage in 2-3 swipes with no bleeding or sticky effect; still I feel it could have been more pigmented. Unlike Plum Pink, this shade appears way subtle with a slight uneven finish which is a major turn-off for me.

I mean it does not settle in dry patches of my lips but it kind of settles in lip lines. This certainly means it is tricky for beauties with pigmented lips because firstly it gives sheer to nearly medium coverage with a translucent glossy shine and secondly it never looks evenly coated on lips which can definitely highlight medium-light pigmentation on lips apart from lip lines.

Apart from this, no complaints for its sheer hydrating texture which never dries my lips. I feel a lip liner is a must for wearing this gloss but again at this price, it is way too much to make further efforts! You know what I mean?

I am pleased that it stays for decent 4-5 hours on my lips even though I dislike that uneven finish throughout wear time. It has a wet juicy texture which nicely adheres to lips without feeling sticky at all. I don’t use lip liners on a regular basis and prefer one-step lip colors for rush hours. I just wish it was more pigmented with an even finish. However, if you shy away from wearing red, then you might like it for its subtle pigmented high glossy shine but you have to live with that uneven finish.

• The gloss is pretty hydrating which easily glides on lips.
• It does not sit in dry patches.
• It does not accentuate dryness of lips.
• It gives sheer to nearly moderate coverage depending upon number of swipes and lip pigmentation.
• It stays for decent 4-5 hours on lips with no fading.
• Quite ordinary yet classy and travel friendly packaging.

Cons of Burberry Kisses Gloss – Military Red No. 109:

• The shade is way subtle than what we see in tube.
• It comes up bit uneven on lips.
• It does seem bit settling in lip lines.
• Tricky for pigmented lips.
• Pricey.

Would I Repurchase Burberry Kisses Gloss – Military Red No. 109?
I don’t think I will get it again nor I recommend it as we do get tons of apple candy red glosses which are way pigmented and perfect in finish. I feel we can easily skip this shade.
