My Experience with Burberry Lip Cover Lipsticks

I picked up two lipsticks from the Burberry Lip Cover Range.

Oxblood No 33: A deep warm wine color.

Dusty Rose No 10 : A nudish pink color.

Honestly, I am obsessed with Burberry’s Beauty line. So consistent with their products and how!

Let’s start with the packaging. The packaging is a gorgeous metallic grey with with Burberry’s signature pattern embossed on it. The same pattern is embossed on the lipsticks as well. There is a magnetic closure to the lipsticks that really makes life a tad easier. you don’t have to worry about lipstick getting opened in your bag.

These are super creamy lipsticks that go on lips without tugging or pulling. They don’t smudge, smear or settle in fine lines.

The staying power is different for both the lipsticks. The Dusty Rose lipstick pretty much disappears after a full meal but lasts pretty well through snacks and my endless cups of coffee. 😛

Oxblood lip cover stays on for good 6-7 hours before it really starts fading. Super impressed.

These are very hydrating lip colors. I mean even of crappy lips days, the feel and texture of the lipsticks can make your lips look good.

The pigmentation of both the lipsticks is pretty opaque. One swipe gives a full coverage and you can build up the color without it getting cakey.

There is a faint rosy fragrance to the lipsticks that is not bothersome. There is no taste as such.

The Oxblood color is a gorgeous color for winter time especially and is a universally flattering shade. The warm tones makes it ideal for most Indian skin tones.

The Dusty Rose shade is pretty as well since it not that ‘disappearing’ kind of neutral shades. It is understated and sophisticated and works great with everyday kohl-ed eyes. A total no brainer.

The finish is slightly creamy-shiny. The shine tends to settle down a tad bit after an hour or so but the lipstick still looks creamy.

Both the lip colors transfer quite less.

Just as a personal preference, I am more of a matte fan. So I prefer Lip Velvets more than the Lip Covers. That said, these are one of the best lipsticks I have in my collection. And someone who does not prefer super matte lip colors, these are your ideal bets.

Rating : 5/5

Guys, you HAVE to try Burberry makeup. They have done such brilliant job with their line. Super impressed.

  1. OXblood is the hottest colour this season cause you know Marsala is so in! The moment I saw the post, I was like – they are the best picks from the range . Oh and I love the orange-black combination of the home decor. Not that it is related , but do you watch ‘Orange is the New Black ‘ series? 😛

  2. Thanks for treating us to so many of your gorgeous pics. 😀 I love both of these for their staying power. I like lipsticks that last as long or more on my lips. Love both of these on you and your makeup looks so different just by changing lip shades.

  3. Wow you look absolutely stunning! My mum has Oxblood, but she isn’t a fan of the color. I’m pretty sure she’d adore Dusty Rose *rushes to tell daddy* 🙂
And Rati.. I was wondering if it is okay if I take your photo to the hairstylist? I love your cut! Lots of volume and the length, your hair is GORGEOUS!!

    1. hahha!! is it? yes not everyone enjoys wearing the oxblood shade. 🙂
