Hello gorgeous ladies,
The makeup markets are flooded with BB, CC and DD creams. You can find one that suits your budget, accessibility and your skin type. Today, I wanted to introduce you to my new favourite BB cream that has been launched recently by Burt’s Bees. It is the Burt’s Bees BB Cream in the shade “Light Medium.” I am very excited to have access to Burt’s Bees now and I did purchase quite a few products from them lately. There are so many reasons I love this product – from its priming, hydrating and protecting features as well as more benefits in just a pea sized amount!! Let me tell you more about it.
Price: CAD 19.99 at Shoppers Drugmart near me, but prices do vary from store to store. |Buy It HERE|
My Experience with Burt’s Bees BB Cream:
I totally agree that this bad boy from Burt’s Bees is by no means priced like a drugstore product. I mean almost CAD 20 for about 50 gm is pricey! But I am glad that like other BB creams in the market, this is not 30 gm, this comes in a 50 ml packaging. The reason I bought this is because it’s marketed more like a sunscreen moisturizer with a tint of color. Also, I love base makeup products and this one sure sounded like a multi-purpose product that I can throw in my bag while travelling and not have to carry a sunscreen and tinted moisturizer separately.
Packaging: The packaging of this BB cream is a squeez-y flat yellow and white coloured which contains 48.1 gms of product to be precise. This tube is housed in a cardboard-paper outer box which has the brand name and all other details of the product mentioned on it in English and French. The box is pretty sturdy and this gives me a illusion of the product being nice. Don’t judge me ladies, I really feel if a company spends some considerable amount of money on packaging, then the product is good too though that’s not always the case. Anyway, the tube has a brown-coloured screw cap which affixes securely. All in all, the packaging is quite attractive and travel friendly.
Color: The Burt’s Bees BB Cream is available in 2 shades – Light Medium and Medium Dark. I don’t know why companies do that. Can’t they simply release 3 shades – Light, Medium and Dark!! Uuhh…Anyway, the shade that I picked up was naturally “Light Medium” because it suits my complexion better. Even though the shade is light medium, it won’t suit very pale skin tones. Also, the shade “Medium Dark” won’t be suitable for very rich complexions. The shade selection is not the best I must say, but I managed to get my perfect match, so I am happy.
Pigmentation: Okay, now the feature of this product that wow-ed me!! This baby has awesome pigmentation. I was expecting it to be like a fairly less pigmented tinted moisturizer, nut hell no! This BB Cream is packed with colour pigments and I really don’t need to use my foundation on an everyday basis. All I need is some concealer and this BB cream and I am sorted – such a hassle free multi-purpose product. If you do not have major skin problems, this baby is all you need for good coverage along with a little bit of concealer for the under eyes.
Texture: The consistency of this foundation also really needs boasting about. It really is like a lightweight moisturizer. The formulation is so thin and non-greasy that I thought it couldn’t possibly cover any discolouration on my face, but it does in a way that is so beautiful and flattering. I love that it doesn’t feel heavy or cake-y on the skin, in fact when I wear this, my skin feels completely bare which I love. For a sunscreen, this product is so lightweight and hydrating, it perfects and smoothes out all of my imperfections.
Smell: This baby smells straight-up like fruit cake. This BB Cream has 98.9% natural extracts and ingredients and hence may be it smells so natural and fresh. The scent is neither too overpowering nor does it linger on the skin for long.
Longevity: Not only does the product give good coverage, it also primes and mattifies my face which I was not expecting this BB cream to do. I think this is one of the reasons it’s so flattering on my skin, as it also blurs out pores and blemishes as well as hydrates and protects with SPF 15. It also contains no oil or alcohol which means it won’t cling to your dry patches or leave you looking too “flat,” but it leaves me with a sheer but build-able finish which I just adore. This also means that it’s much more long lasting than your average BB cream which I find tend to slip off after a couple of hours wear.
Quality: Burt’s Bees has nailed it with the super awesome formulation of this product. I am damned!! I can’t get over this baby and I use it every day without any intentions of switching over to another product very soon.
