Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream Review

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream Review

Heyya Girlies!!!

I am back again with another review.  The product I’m reviewing today is “Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.”  Remember how I was whining about my dry cuticles when I reviewed the Organic Surge Hand Cream.  Well, dry cuticles were only one part of the big problematic trio – dry cuticles, hang-nails and peeling skin around the nails.  I finally decided it’s time I invest in a good cuticle cream, and had heard people raving about Burt’s Bees all over the net.  Finally, I ordered it online from an UK website which ships to India. Yay!

Instead of ordering just the cuticle cream, I opted for the Burt’s Bees Basics – Pomegranate kit which includes this cuticle cream and the Replenishing lip balm with Pomegranate oil which has already been reviewed on IMBB here almost three years ago.  Although now, they have changed the packaging and the formula has changed a bit.  It cost me around Rs. 450.  So, I got to try two good products for a reasonable amount, cool, ain’t it?

Coming back to the cuticle cream, let us see if it was a stud or a dud! 😛

I have been using this cream for about a week now and I can already see a great deal of difference in my cuticles and the skin around the nails!

As you can see, the cream is a little bit grainy.  The big dent in the middle is from the first day when I scooped out more product than needed.  Even though the tin is small (almost the same size as L’Occitane’s solid perfumes), a little goes a long way, all I do is just sweep my finger in one or two circles over the cream and rub it onto and around my nails and I am done.

There is no description as such on the carton, but its free of Phthalates, Parabens and Petrochemicals and it’s not tested on animals, Yay, Happy bunny!

My Thoughts on Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream:

I think it serves its purpose just right, softens my dry cuticles to a great extent, My hang-nails have reduced, although I think it will take more time for them to completely go away. Now, that it moisturizes extremely well, the peeling of skin around my skin has reduced a lot. Since the cream is pretty greasy, I would recommend that you apply it only during the night.  By the way, I just love the lemony smell of this cream, although it doesn’t linger on for very long, I just love how fresh it smells.

So, here’s the final verdict:

Pros of Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream:

  • Thick texture, moisturizes intensely.
  • Lovely fresh lemony smell.
  • Has the goodness of a lot of essential oils, beeswax and cocoa butter.
  • Travel-friendly packaging and a little goes a long way.
  • Does exactly what it should, heals dry cuticles.

Cons of Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream:

  • Greasy, so one can only apply in the night.
  • Availability in India, I’m not sure if Sephora stocks this one, can’t wait Sephora’s to open in Bangalore.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5.  It’s a very good cuticle cream, but had to reduce half a point for availability issue.
