This is my second article and I have to say “it feels awesome” to actually see my article on IMBB!!  The product I would be reviewing today is “Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm” in the shade “Rose.”

My Experience with Burt’s Bees Rose Tinted Lip Balm:

This lip balm is just so good!!! I am a lip balm hoarder and just can’t have enough of them!!! I am sure most of us can’t!!!! This is one of the two tinted lip balms that I really love (the other one being Maybelline Baby Lips – Pink Punch). One reason is that these lip balms are chemical free and contain all natural ingredients.  I had heard so much about Burt’s Bees products that I had to try this one out.

The packaging is pretty and quite different! It comes in a sleek cardboard carton. I was fooled by the size of this box and assumed that the lip balm might be really big, but it was just a normal sized tube lip balm!! Though the packaging looks attractive, it seems a little pointless and misleading! It ends up fooling people about the size of the actual balm! Sorry that I can’t show any picture of how it looks. I got this product a long time back. The shade name and the ingredients are mentioned on the outer carton and not on the lip balm. The actual lip balm tube is sturdy and extremely travel friendly.

The shade is a gorgeous rosy red, but looks a little pinkish red on application. It has a good color payoff and looks really natural. Though one swipe might not give off a lot of color, it is a pretty buildable shade. However, it might not show up too well on pigmented lips. As I have slightly pigmented lips, I have to swipe it at least a few times to get that healthy flush of color. This shade is perfect for those days when you don’t feel like wearing a lipstick and want to have just some subtle color and sheen on your lips. No SPF though!!

It is extremely hydrating and does not have any fragrance or flavour. So, it is great for those with a sensitive nose! It feels smooth, non-greasy, non-waxy on application and feels extremely light on the lips. The texture is really soft. It stays on for 2-3 hours (without meals). Though the tint and sheen might not be visible after 3 hours or so, lips feels hydrated and soft for a long time. However, I think it is a bit pricey for a lip balm (that won’t stop me from buying this again though). Also, this might not be very useful for gals with extremely dry and chapped lips. It conditions the lips well but does not repair very dry, chapped lips. I think Maybelline Baby Lips does a better job of repairing dry lips. If used on chapped lips without exfoliation, it will accentuate the flakiness of the skin and settle in fine lines.

• Extremely travel friendly.
• Beautiful color.
• Very hydrating.
• Glides on smoothly and feels non greasy.
• Hydration lasts really long (not the tint and sheen).

Cons of Burt’s Bees Rose Tinted Lip Balm:

• Misleading packaging.
• A bit pricey.
• Does not contain SPF.
• Does not repair very dry/chapped lips.
