Butter London Nail Lacquer, The Old Bill Review

Butter London Nail Lacquer, The Old Bill Review

The holiday season has started here and wherever I look there are beautiful lights and Christmas trees, with Christmas songs being played around in every nook and corner. All these audio visual inputs have made me yearn for a nice shimmery holiday shade on my nails and so I strolled to the Macy’s counter where the Butter London Nail Lacquer, The Old Bill was calling my name and asking me to take it home. 😀 So here I have today my very first Butter London Nail Lacquer review.

Packaging:

These gorgeous polishes comes in rectangular shaped glass bottles which have a square black color outer cap and a ridged cylindrical inner cap with a regular brush. I say regular brush because it is thin and normal as every other nail polish does have.

Ingredients:

How to Use:

Apply one coat of Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat to clean, dry nails. Follow with your favourite Butter London nail lacquer. Then, apply one coat of Hardwear P.D. Quick Topcoat for a smooth, high-gloss finish. To prevent chipping, wrap Hardwear P.D. Quick Topcoat over the tips of your nails.

My experience with Butter London Nail Lacquer-The Old Bill:

As I said I wanted a holiday nail polish so badly and I was not able to resist my greed at the butter London counter although I had almost made up my mind not to get a $15 nail polish, seriously are they going to do my manicure with that. 😛 But all that explanations to myself went vain as I eventually ended up buying it. I need some self-control urgently…jokes apart, this shade is a gorgeous shimmery golden copper (copper-ish flecks)nail lacquer. I was advised to buy the top coat, base coat…blah blah blah!!! But I just got the polish as I was in no mood to spend a fortune on nail products.

I applied this over my Inglot grow max (that’s the only thing that helps my terrible nails) the shade is very beautiful in the bottle as well as outside and the shade on nails matches the shade on the bottle, which does not happen very often. The first coat was instant love affair I was glad I invested on a polish that goes opaque in one coat…yes one coat. It dried of pretty fast so I was tempted to use another coat just to add more depth to the color, that was the end of my impression as it took forever to dry out and when it dried I went to do my usual household chores but after a while when I peeked in my nails OMG they had chipped big time :’( I was so heartbroken about the loss of my money on a product that I could get for less than half of its price. I had almost given up and had no more patience to reapply so I left it as it was and surprisingly it has not chipped further….well they should rename this first day chip nail polish and no chipping later-guaranteed 😛 I am having a love hate affair with this as they have a huge selection of shades and the polish applied very smooth without brush marks and full opacity in one coat…I might give other shades a try in the future but for the time being I am going to wait and watch 😀

I am not sure of it as I have read great reviews on these polishes but I had a different experience so I would like to see IMBB reviewers using it and sharing their opinion.
