It is a beautiful skin brightening raspberry pink color which is a must try shade among all shades in this range. I love wearing such raspberry pink shades exclusively in summers and monsoons, though I am not fan of the formula and finish of this particular lipstick. My Experience with Buxom Lover Wildly Whipped Lightweight Liquid Lipstick:
The liquid lipstick comes in traditional chubby gloss kind of shaded pink and black tube packaging; although the color co-ordinates with shade still I always get confused between the two tubes. It does have mild smell which is too mild to concern us. Overall I like its user friendly and travel friendly packaging even though it gives me tough time finding difference between Lover & Moonlighter at times (LOL!).
The shade “Lover” is defined as raspberry pink which is true to its description as it comes up as an intensely pigmented raspberry pink on my lips. I like the fact that it has creamy, semi-matte finish which certainly provides comfortable pigmented color pay off like a lipstick while it has glossy sheen with lightweight formula.
It easily glides on my normal dry lips like any liquid lip color though I find it to be a bit tricky to smoothen on
lips; sadly it does not look smooth and even toned in finish. Probably using a lip brush might solve this issue but I think the texture has to be blamed as well because I have tried applying it with lip brush and it still had a bit uneven finish. I believe exfoliating and hydrating lips prior to wearing this formula would be the best trick while we cannot deny the fact that no matter what, it will certainly cling to our dry areas and might tend to sit in lip lines.
It provides medium coverage in 1-2 swipes while layering it on is not a good idea considering it never comes up smooth and seamless on lips. Needless to say beauties with dry, pigmented lips might need additional tricks to sport this formula and shade. I personally feel the need of swiping lip balm and filling in lips before wearing this shade and it certainly works in my favor. I won’t say it bleeds or feathers within an hour of application, unlike “Moonlighter”, but it has a tendency to do so as it does not dry completely on lips and always maintains wet creamy glossy finish. Moreover it transfers to almost everything and might require frequent touch ups in between light snacks/meals or complete re-application after one heavy meal.
Thankfully I didn’t find it overtly drying for my lips other than the fact that it is not very ideal formula for dry lips. Its stays for 3-4 hours on my lips with transferring and fading a bit; thereby leaving mild pink stain on lips without aggravating or accentuating my dry lips. Overall I don’t think we are missing out on something unique or classy; just that if you are fan of such wet, glossy, creamy colors then you might like it provided you are well aware of the challenges it comes up with. I personally like the color and comfortable creamy-matte finish but I am done with 2 shades and won’t get it again. Let’s sum up pros and cons,
