I received this lip cream as a Christmas gift and the first time I used it I was a bit iffy about it because the ingredient list looked a little shady and on first swatch it effused a very strong chemical smell, but after a usage or two I changed my opinion because this product is amazing.

My Take on C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream:
I had never heard of this brand before; even though I visit Bath and Body (BnB) Works outlet so often (that’s the retail store which carries this brand), I never bothered to check anything else except lotions and shower gel. Hence I am glad that my friend decided to gift this product to me because now I have a new brand in my collection and a reason to check out other products available in BnB Works store as well.
Packaging: It comes in a long tube packaging, nearly my palm size, with a slant tip nozzle which can be used as applicator and a twist up cap to protect it. The nozzle has a tiny hole to dispense the product when the tube is squeezed and a generous amount of lip cream comes out which can be slathered on lips.
Texture: It is very thick but not gooey or sticky and spreads easily. It does not form a thick layer on lips but just a thin film with a cream finish. It feels like a lubricant which can lower friction and prevent wear and tear.
Color: It is a transparent finish product.
Shimmer and shine: It has cream finish like most lip creams but it is not as dense as petroleum jelly and has a clearer shine.
Fragrance: The first time I opened the tube for application, it had a very unpleasant smell, like a stale mineral oil with undertones of lemon fragrance but after using it once or twice, the smell appeared to tone down a little and didn’t seem to bother me. Now that I use it every day, I find the fragrance sweet and lemony.
Wear time: It wears more than most of the lip balms and salves I have used till now and tastes sweet – literally sweet. It prevented my lips from chapping or drying up and the most important feature is it did not make my lips addicted to it the way EOS does. Once applied, C.O. Bigelow Lip Cream keeps my lips moisturized for a long time and I don’t have to reapply it every few minutes.
