Calvin Klein Rich & Famous Ultimate Edge Lip Gloss Review

How are you all today? This is my first time writing for IMBB, but somehow I don’t feel like a newbie here! (Probably because I’ve been an admirer of IMBB before joining the team 🙂 ) Coming back to the product I’ll be reviewing today, I asked my cousin to purchase this lip gloss for me from US since I didn’t feel comfortable in purchasing this online from here. Considering it is from Calvin Klein, I have high hopes for this product. Let’s see how this one fared…

Price: $16 USD, approximately 900 INR (As told by my brother)

• Provides rich, glamorous colour.
• Infused with a hint of pleasant flavor.
• Creates a soft, dewy & shimmering pout.
• Provides sheer, radiant shine color for lips.
• Enriched with marine collagen micro-spheres.
• Replenishes moisture & boosts volume.
• Leaves your lips look fuller & more glamorous.
• Wear alone or over lipstick to magnify color.
• Dermatologist tested.

Ingredients: Not mentioned.

My Experience With Calvin Klein Rich & Famous Ultimate Edge Lip Gloss:

Packaging: I like how Calvin Klein packaged this lip gloss, well somewhat love. The lip gloss comes in a transparent pot container with a peach screw top. They color coordinate the screw caps with the shade of the lip gloss, which I like. This makes it easier to spot a particular shade in your vanity. When I first laid my eyes on the product, I thought this lip gloss would come in a glass pot but to my surprise, it came in a plastic pot. This might be the only thing I don’t like about the packaging. Also, when you open the product, you see a seal which ensures that the product is hygienic and hasn’t been touched by anyone.

Color/ Shade: I expected the color to be similar to a n*de shade, but this is definitely a very light peach color with a subtle pink undertone, filled with shimmer. I am a matte lover and don’t like shimmer as such but this lip gloss has made me hate shimmer! I know that’s harsh but I could have bought a better, a non shimmery shade. (That’s my fault though)

Texture: The gloss is very glossy and adds a subtle sheen to your look too. This lip gloss is not like any other kind of lip glosses. It is not sticky or ultra creamy, but it glides on smoothly without any tug or pull! It would sell better as a lipstick or a tinted balm rather than a lip gloss, but that’s just my opinion. This gloss leaves a lot of shimmer behind even after you have removed it for the twentieth time! That’s annoying!

Pigmentation: Usually a lip gloss needs to be applied over and over again to achieve a full coverage, but this gloss will give you an amazing pigmentation and coverage with a single swipe! Also, this gloss does fulfill its claim of hydrating the lips. My lips feel moisturized as long as the product is on my lips. I have dry lips so this feature is a must for me!

Fragrance: This lip gloss has a very subtle fragrance which doesn’t linger for long.

Staying Power: The staying power is average, not that bad though. For a lip gloss, it lasts for around 2-3 hours. But with a lip liner you might be able to make it last longer. Also, you can use this gloss over your favorite lipstick; it does enhance your lipstick shade, giving you a bolder look.

This is not a bad lip gloss at all; I just chose the wrong shade. You would have to use a lip brush with this one if you don’t want to wreck your hands every time you apply it.

Pros of Calvin Klein Rich & Famous Ultimate Edge Lip Gloss:

• Easy to apply.
• Sturdy and travel friendly packaging.
• Good pigmentation.
• Subtle fragrance. ( Might be a con for some)
• Hydrating.
• Can be used over other lipsticks.
• Good coverage.
• No tugging or pulling needed.
• Glides on smoothly.
• Long lasting with a lip liner.

Cons Of Calvin Klein Rich & Famous Ultimate Edge Lip Gloss :

• Shimmer!
• Leaves a shimmery finish behind.
• Difficult to remove.
• No brush or applicator provided.
• Non hygienic packaging, if not used with an applicator.
• Average staying power.

IMBB Rating: Overall 3.5/5; but for this shade, 2/5.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Calvin Klein Rich & Famous Ultimate Edge Lip Gloss?
Not this shade but you can try other shades from this range. But make sure you buy an applicator along with it! 🙂
