Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner Review

Hello all,

After reviewing Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Shampoo, I am back with the review of the conditioner from the same range. I wasn’t too impressed with the shampoo, so read on to find out of the conditioner fared any better.

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner

Price:
$12.

Product Description:
You can instantly put an end to dry, dull, brittle hair. When you naturally balance hair’s moisture – manageability, softness and shine are just around the corner. This rich hydrating conditioner can do just that, plus it detangles and makes hair easier to style. The blend of Pro-vitamin B5 and Biotin strengthens and softens hair when it’s wet, so there are fewer snags, snaps and tugs and it’s light enough to use daily and is also perfect as a co-wash. After shampooing, work thoroughly into wet hair. Massage gently into your scalp and hair, especially the ends. Leave in your hair for 3 to 5 minutes and rinse well.

My Experience with Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner:

Packaging: The conditioner comes in a simple plastic bottle with a pump mechanism. The packaging is pretty simple and looks a bit stark. The pump mechanism is handy as it helps in dispensing just the right amount of the product, but the bottle is not at all travel friendly as it is quite bulky.

Packaging

Fragrance: The conditioner also has the same rich vanilla fragrance that the shampoo has. I personally liked the fragrance a lot, but mind you, it is pretty strong and lingers on in your hair as well as the bathroom long after shampooing. This might not appeal to those with sensitive noses.

Pump dispenser

Texture/Performance: The conditioner is white in color and has a thick creamy consistency. It spreads easily through the hair and does not weigh down the hair. I typically leave it in my hair for a minute or so before rinsing it off with warm water. I like that the conditioner washes away pretty well and does not leave any sticky residues/ film like some conditioners do.

Conditioner swatch

The shampoo from the same range makes my hair quite tangled. This conditioner does make it more manageable and slightly tangle free. However, it does not help in countering the dryness from the shampoo nor does it help in any frizz-control.

Overall, I would say the conditioner fares better than the shampoo from the same range, but only slightly so. There are much better conditioners in the market at a lesser price and hence this one is avoidable.

Pros of Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner:

  • Makes hair smooth and manageable.
  • Does not leave any residue in the hair.
  • Does not weigh down the hair or make it limp.
  • Has a wonderful vanilla fragrance.

Cons of Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner:

  • Does not help in countering dryness.
  • Does not help in frizz-control.

IMBB Rating:
2/5

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner?
I would not recommend as there are much better conditioners in the market.  I will not repurchase.
