It’s been a while since I wrote a review for IMBB and I have missed this place. I was busy with a crazy hectic schedule at work coupled with a very dear friend’s wedding and hence I couldn’t find time to pen down this review which I have been wanting to write for a while. It has been raining incessantly in Chennai the last few days and I have a love-hate relationship with it. Love because it makes the weather super cool and pleasant and it makes me forget the hot and humid days I have spent in the city. But at the same time heavy rains means crazy amount of traffic and mucky roads which is every office-goer’s nightmare! Coming to the product I am going to review today, it is a perfume which was gifted to my sister, but ended up landing in my hands. Now isn’t that perfect? Well, the real story is that she hated the scent from the very first use and felt that I would appreciate the scent much more. And that’s how this bottle made its way to my vanity. We have different tastes in perfumes, while she likes more fresh and fruity scents, I gravitate towards floral or fruity-floral scents. Let’s see how I liked this perfume.
A perfume that leaves a lingering trail. Every aspect of the lily, a flower of pure femininity, is explored for the first time. A flower of passion for highly charged emotions. The fragrance of a majestic yet elusive flower: the lily is recreated for the first time, from the freshness of the leaf, the floral scent of the petal and the powder fragrance of the pistil. “In this new perfume, I wanted to re-create the scent of armfuls of flowers on the neck.”Mathilde Laurent, Cartier perfumer.
Notes: Lily Petals, Green Lily Leaves.
Style: Fresh, Floral, Powdery.
It was a gift, so I am not aware of the price, but I found that it retails for around 100 USD for 1.6 FL OZ/50 ml online.
My Experience with Cartier Baiser Vole EDP For All Floral Scent Lovers:
Let’s begin with the packaging. It’s a simple, classy, fuss-free packaging and honestly I like it. The bottle does not look super feminine yet it has a charm of its own which definitely adds to the beauty of my vanity. It has a flip top cap which shuts with a snap making it perfect for busy mornings when you don’t have the time to fiddle with screw tops. The shape of this bottle almost reminds me of a cigarette lighter :P. Overall, I quite like the practical packaging of the bottle.
Coming to the scent, it smells floral and a bit powdery in the very first sniff. I can safely say that you should stay far away from this perfume if you like pure fruity scents and are not very fond of floral scents. It is definitely a little heavy on the floral notes, it smells like fresh lilies and I personally enjoy this scent on most days. Having said that, one can easily go overboard with this scent since it is a little strong and a few times when I have been a little generous with it, my sensitive nose did not enjoy it. Using this only at the pulse points is sufficient to make you smell good for the rest of the day.
The lasting power of this perfume is quite impressive. It easily lasts for a good 7-8 hours and I can smell it on me at the end of the day. I have noticed that the scent changes during the day, while it is floral and powdery at the beginning, it is slightly sweet at the end of it. And this is what makes me really like this perfume. I like how it changes throughout the day making me feel fresh and lovely all day.
This perfume on my pulse points coupled with a fruity body mist in the morning is my every day go-to scent because by layering it with a fruity mist I get a heavenly combination of fruity and floral. It has become my signature scent and I feel much more confident because of the freshness it imparts to my body scent. Apparently, Baiser Vole in French means a “Stolen Kiss,” which imparts it a flirty feminine character and I agree that it is very feminine and sophisticated.

Cons of Cartier Baiser Vole EDP For All Floral Scent Lovers:
- You can easily go overboard with it and end up smelling too strong.

- Some may find it expensive.
Would I Repurchase Cartier Baiser Vole EDP?
May be not because this is going to last me a long time and I want to try as many different perfumes as I can in this lifetime. I would recommend this if you are drawn to floral and sophisticated scents.
