Smokey eyes are usually created with black or brown colors. I was so impressed with the Catrice Velvet Matt Smokey Eye Pencil, that I went in for a different shade in the same series. I love to look different and I thought this color can be the one! I had not tried khaki color for eyes before. It was really exciting to play with and I used it the very next day I bought it. Today’s review is about Catrice 020 Avokhaki Velvet Matt Smokey Eyes Pencil.

My Experience with Catrice 020 Avokhaki Velvet Matt Smokey Eyes Pencil:
Catrice 020 Avokhaki Velvet Matt Smokey Eyes Pencil is a dark green khaki color with gold shimmer. The color is so beautiful that it is impossible to resist. The product has an Avocado colored Khaki eye pencil on one side, which is very soft textured. It glides very smoothly over the eyelids and the application was really easy. On the other side, is the brush to blend.
Normally, after using brushes to blend dark colors, it needs a wash to prevent the dark effect the next time you use the brush (for a different color). But, since it is attached to the pencil, I tend to use this brush only with this pencil. So, I do not need to wash the brush so often.
The pigmentation of the product is quite good. I could blend out the product with the integrated brush to create a soft haze on the eyelids. Of course, the intensity can be increased by using more of the same product.
Its possible to use it also as an eye shadow. I find it best, when used as eyeliner. It is very easy to apply and also correct. But, I had to make sure not to touch or rub my eye, as the product is easily transferable. The product is not waterproof, which I prefer.
I could easily create dark green smokey eyes within minutes, using this product. It is not a very bold look. The color is green, but is not that flashy green. Anyone can carry it without getting conscious.
There are 2 things, which I am not happy with regarding the product. The brush is good but could have been better with more bristles. Brush is little scare of bristles. Smudging would have been better with a little thicker brush. I can also use a Q tip for smudging. Also, by the end of the day, the product tends to crease on the eyelids, inspite of using it with eye shadow primer.
But still, I would say it is a great product, which is not regular black and creates beautiful eyes.

- Can use the product as eyeshadow, eyeliner, for smokey eyes.

Cons of Catrice 020 Avokhaki Velvet Matt Smokey Eyes Pencil:
- Creases on the eyelid, by end of the day.
- Integrated brush little scarce of bristles.
- Easily tranferable.
